Herr, driving one of three trucks that showed up, got into an argument with a man later identified by Broward Sheriff's deputies as Triston Johnson, 31, after he hooked up Johnson's 2001 Jaguar, said police.
When Herr turned to walk away from the confrontation, Johnson allegedly shot him in the head and then shot him several more times, police said.

Where did you get the idea that this was a repo? It was towing a car parked on private property without the property owner's permission.

You took my post in the wrong way ... I was commenting on the situation , not endorsing any actions. I am 50+ white and have been victimized by rogue tow drivers and unscrupulous police departments that support illegal towing for a cut of the fees... Obviously the tow driver shouldn’t have been shot but didn’t the apartment complex change the “no parking” areas and dates beyond what was originally posted? The guy had a legitimate beef when they hooked his car... Unless the owner of the car calls for the tow there is always tension and for good reason, it’s theft plain and simple ,, if not immediately then later at the yard.
I didn’t remember this article ,,, then I saw it was from 3 years ago , GET OVER IT ... You don’t have to be scared of “my kind” ... As far as I can recall I’ve had 3 legit tows in my life ,,, a car stolen by a rogue tow driver (never recovered) and the worst was when I had a stolen car “recovered” by the police and towed to impound ,, the impound people stole my car with fees escalating daily beyond what I could pay... They were worse than the people that stole the car in the first place.
People too sketchy to be carnival workers get jobs as tow drivers.
