Governor Palin: I Respect Senator McCain’s Stance on Foreign Threats, Update
Conservatives4Palin ^ | August 11 2013 | Steve Flesher

Posted on 08/12/2013 6:59:01 AM PDT by Bratch

Governor Palin via Facebook:

John McCain is right about Obama completely underestimating Putin’s intensions and autocratic unwillingness to put people before his political power.

As Senator McCain noted today: “The president comparing [Putin] to a kid in the back of a classroom, I think, is very indicative of the president’s lack of appreciation of who Vladimir Putin is. He’s an old KGB colonel that has no illusions about our relationship, does not care about a relationship with the United States, continues to oppress his people, continues to act in an autocratic fashion.”

Senator McCain is also right in his assessment of Obama’s absurd claim that al Qaeda is on the run despite the evidence to the contrary with the closure of diplomatic posts in Yemen due to terror threats from APAQ. As McCain said, “You can’t say you’ve decimated the core of al Qaeda and at same time have to close these posts.”

I respect Senator McCain’s stance on Russia, al Qaeda, and foreign threats. Our current president would be wise to hear Senator McCain on these real security threats and to finally start prioritizing our tax dollars to fund our nation’s real national security needs instead of growing the Obama nanny state.

- Sarah Palin

Update by Steve

John Frank has a great comment below about many people commenting on Governor Palin’s wall dissenting from her admiration of Senator McCain’s stance on specific foreign policy issues.

In a nutshell, folks need to lighten up.  If they believe they can sit around waiting for every candidate and/or politician to agree with them 100% on every issue, they’re going to find themselves miserable for a very long time.  Yes, some of us as Palin supporters dissent from a myriad of McCain’s positions and statements.  That doesn’t mean he can never be right about something or that he isn’t to be admired for his service to his country or that he isn’t very wise when it comes to very specific topics of foreign policy.

I’d remind these uptight folks that Governor Palin is a great communicator, probably the best we’ve had since Reagan.  As such, she’s worked with people throughout her entire career to find common good and to promote her various reform agendas.  In doing so, she’s been able to accomplish many great things.

I hope folks will take a breath and make the choice to pick their battles wisely.

Palin is too much of a class act to dis the guy who brought her onto the national stage.

And so, the Media Whorenalists love to ask her about him over and over, knowing she will NOT give a negative comment about their favorite Republican.

I said this once on another thread this morning, and I will repeat it.

Palin owed McCain.

Palin may always owe McCain.

McCain discovered Palin, and made her a national name. Made her his 2008 VP candidate.

Palin is a lot of good things. McCain is fewer, yet McCain did pick Palin for his VP.

Don’t be too tough on Palin about McCain please.

I might of missed something...busy weekend...was Palin asked about McShame's Putin/0 comment, or did she comment on this voluntarily?

As much as I despise McCain, on the two main examples Palin uses, he’s right about Obama misreading Putin and claiming al-Qaeda is on the run.

Don’t be too tough on Palin about McCain please.

And Palin is citing two examples in which McCain happens to be right. Obama is, after nearly five years in office, still shockingly feckless.

Let’s not forget though, in 2010, Palin did a small amount of speechifying on McCain’s behalf and got out of Dodge. She wasn’t intrinsically involved in his re-election campain beyond that.

McCain is not right about anything. I’m a Sarah fan but this disappointments me. The most she could owe McCain is just not to comment about him. That would be a big enough favor.

Palin cited two McCain quotes that clearly support the fact Obama is a clueless dipsh*t on foreign policy. She hasn’t voiced support for McCain’s pro-amnesty or anti-gun stances. She also is on the opposite side of McCain on the subject of aid to the terrorists trying to overthrow Assad in Syria.

So, how again does this constitute “worship?”

She is getting absolutely trashed on this post by her own supporters on Facebook. I don’t think she was forced into this comment by a reporter’s question, I think it was unsolicited. I think she is hurting herself bad by doubling down on her support of McCain. McCain and Lindsey Graham just recently made complete fools of themselves in Egypt and McCain was called a senile old man by Egypt’s leaders. Sarah needs to send her accolades and admiration of McCain directly to him and in private. She is pissing away much needed support by doing this in public.

What Sarah is doing is quite clever, and exactly what Obammy would do.... she’s using Obama’s “ally” against him. Obama embraced McCain and claimed “this is a guy I can work with,” and Sarah is pointing out, “Oh really?”

So... good one, Sarah!!

I don't have a problem with the assessment, I have a problem with the unusually worshipful and sycophant tone of the statement.

Her attachment to McCain is quite worrying and should bother anyone who is thinking of her in any future position. All we need is a Gang of Nine.

All you are really doing is giving a pass to Palin for any position she takes that a ‘pure’ conservative would not favor (whatever a pure conservative is).

So she now take any GOPe position, and you’ll simply attribute it to your fact that “Palin may always owe McCain”.

At least, that’s what it sounds like to me.

Compared to McCain's amnesty play, and his supporting that Obama gun bill, this is pretty meaningless.

MCcain barks on TV play acting and then sides with Obama on real bills and votes.
