To rub salt in the wound, now we taxpayers are going to have to foot the bill for his nursing care as he'll probably live well into his 90s. One thing you have to give him credit for - he did take good care of himself.
I give him a year, tops.
Whitey won’t be coming down for breakfast...
Howie sounds “over the moon” on RKO now.
After ruling the Boston underworld for decades with the help of corrupt FBI agents and enjoying the Southern California beachfront for nearly twenty years on the lam with his gal pal and $1 million in cash did the 83-year-old really lose?
James “Whitey” Bulger was found guilty on 31 of the 32 counts and 11 of 19 racketeering acts related to murder were proved.
Jurors deliberated for 32 1/2 hours over 5 days on the charges against the 83-year-old crime boss. The eight men and four women had heard 35 days of testimony and evidence and received instructions from US District Court Judge Denise J. The “proven/not proven” list is a list of acts that were part of Count 2.
Howie is overjoyed over the outcome because of all of the books he has written on the subject: between “Brothers Bolger”, “Hit Man” and “The Rifleman”, Howie stands to make a “killing” when the movie studios start snapping up his books for the movies which are waiting in the wings to be made and to pay him for screen plays, consulting on the facts, etc... This whole Bolger mess has been an ongoing gravy train for Howie because if anyone knows the facts, just the facts on the Bolger crime family it is Howie Carr. Met him recently a second time at another book signing in NH (I have read the first two books and Rifleman is next) he hasn’t missed a step and is sharp as a whip regarding minute details.
I listened online to most of his show today. Some one asked him what he is going to do now that the Whitey saga is at an end. "I might start to reveal all I know about the Kennedys!", he said. "So more of Irish mobsters", thought I.
Another thing that surprises me is that Howie is still above ground and breathing. Given all of the facts he has revealed, disclosed and chronologically put together on the nefarious Bulger's Incorporated; it is amazing that they, or one of their "associates" haven't "put out a contract on him by now.
