A federal judge has tossed the race discrimination accusations that are part of a lawsuit filed against former Food Network star, Paula Deen, and her brother, Earl "Bubba" Hiers, the Associated Press reports. Lisa T. Jackson, a former manager of Uncle Bubba's Seafood and Oyster House in Georgia, accused the pair of racism in a lawsuit filed last year.
Jackson's claims caught national attention in June when Deen's court deposition was released. Deen admitted to having used the N-word in the past and made other comments that made her seem racist.
A judge threw out the racism claims on Monday, saying that Jackson, who is white, doesn't have the standing to sue Deen and Hiers for race discrimination, according to the AP.
The sexual harassment claims contained in the lawsuit might still go forward. Hiers has been accused of viewing porn at work.
The racism accusations cost Deen much of the multimillion dollar empire she built around her Southern comfort recipes. Shortly after the scandal blew up, about a dozen companies Deen was partnered with ended their relationships with her.

BUT... Lisa Jackson also filed sexual harassment claims against Deen and Hiers; those charges still stand in the ongoing case.
So, tonight on all the networks we will see apologies from all those who trashed this woman’s reputation, and caused her to lose business?

Deen’s testimony during the case, of course, became her undoing. The Georgia native admitted under oath to using the N-word — and despite numerous taped apologies and a tearful interview with Matt Lauer on The Today Show, Deen was dropped by the Food Network as well as the majority of her business partners, including JCPenney, Sears, Wal-Mart, Target, Kmart, Home Depot and Smithfield Foods.
Her publisher, Ballantine, also canceled upcoming cookbook plans, and QVC has “decided to take a pause” with the star. She subsequently parted ways with her legal team and with her longtime agent.
I think Paula should hook up with Larry the Cable Guy and do a show called “Good Ole Southern Cookin”!

... her mistake was apologizing. Trust me folks, it NEVER works. All you do is admit something that might not ever be true, or worthy of consideration.

She deserves every bit of the reputation she has. She is the kind of person who treats everyone around her horribly. Also, just because this judge ruled that white people can’t be the victim of racism, doesn’t mean it’s true.
How could this assistant for Deen to use racial slurs?

It was an awful evil that was committed against Paula Deen. Funny how quick it all happened. Like they were waiting to destroy her at the drop of a hat, and they did.

What evil was committed against her? For years, she treated every person she could with total contempt and despicably. Finally her actions caught up with her. She has no else to blame but her self. If she had a shred of decency, she wouldn’t be in this situation today.
Trayvon used it all the time.
Doesn’t have standing to profit from the charge but can engage in character assassination all the same.
