Last year they told us that the midwest drought could last for years or even decades. This year we more than doubled our yearly rainfall amount in the first 6 months of the year and it hasn’t stopped yet. Locally we’ll have nearly 3 inches of rain in the last 24 hours and August is a dry month.

So why don’t they repeal the law of gravity—or at least drop it by 20%. Then the First Moose wouldn’t scare the bathroom scale so badly.

How much is it changing, and in what direction, and over what period of time? Is there anything that can be done about it? Is there any reason why anything should be done about it? What are the risks, the costs, the potential benefits?

The earth is round, how bout that! And man-made clinmate change is real because modern science tells us so. Before Columbus, the “modern science” of those days was full of flat earthers. When the first railroads were built in the 1830’s, modern science warned of the dangers of rail travel, claiming the human body cannot withstand sustained speeds over 30MPH. I’m sure Jeff Gordon and Chuck Yeager would have a good laugh over that one. A few years ago we when to the baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. They have an interesting exhibit on the history of the old Negro Leagues. One artifact in that exhibit is an excerpt from a medical journal published in the 1940’s that argued against integrating the major leagues because Blacks were athletically INFERIOR to Whites. That, folks is what modern science told us 70 years ago. Obviously, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Bob Gibson, Willie McCovey, etc. never received that memo.
