Humanity is drowning in Washington's criminality
pravda ^ | August 14, 2013 | Paul Craig Roberts

Posted on 08/14/2013 4:41:53 AM PDT by ilovesarah2012

Americans will soon be locked into an unaccountable police state unless US Representatives and Senators find the courage to ask questions and to sanction the executive branch officials who break the law, violate the Constitution, withhold information from Congress, and give false information about their crimes against law, the Constitution, the American people and those in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Somalia, Guantanamo, and elsewhere. Congress needs to use the impeachment power that the Constitution provides and cease being subservient to the lawless executive branch. The US faces no threat that justifies the lawlessness and abuse of police powers that characterize the executive branch in the 21st century.

Impeachment is the most important power of Congress. Impeachment is what protects the citizens, the Constitution, and the other branches of government from abuse by the executive branch. If the power to remove abusive executive branch officials is not used, the power ceases to exist. An unused power is like a dead letter law. Its authority disappears. By acquiescing to executive branch lawlessness, Congress has allowed the executive branch to place itself above law and to escape accountability for its violations of law and the Constitution.

Congress does not care.

THEY are exempt from their own laws passed
to protect their treasonous fiefdoms.

THEY are corrupt and sold out the American people
to al Qaeda, giving al Qaeda arms, MANPADS,
and some indicate, even WMD.

It’s ironic that we have to get the pravda from pravda

“... unless US Representatives and Senators find the courage...”

NO such luck. As the first poster said here, they just DON’T care. Maybe a small handful out of the 535.

WE THE PEOPLE are left to find the courage and save our nation from our corrupt government.

We were the super power of the world. Now that same super power is completely taken over by corrupt degenerates. That’s a LOT of power in the hands of dangerous people.

What we now face is NOT just another political battle.

You are so right. What we face now is the survival of our nation. It won’t be saved unless We The People save it.

Because PCR, like the drunk at the end of the bar, might occasionally say something with a grain of truth does not make him any less a lunatic. He thinks every member of every admininistration for the past twenty years, Republican or Democrat, is a criminal. If you believe that, then you’re as nutty as Mr. Roberts.

I wouldn’t have thought I’d live to see Pravda write editorials that should be coming from the NYT and Washington Post

or that I’d be thinking neighborhood watch volunteers victimized for self-defense, homeschooling Europeans denied asylum here, and Americans ruined “for life” for mocking the president should seek asylum in Russia

All of this is going on under the watchful eye of the Republican party. They are only “watching” but doing absolutely NOTHING about it.

They are so infected with the “go along to get along” disease that they tremble in fear that some minority or Democrat will give them a “wedgie” if they even attempt to do anything about it.

Blame the Democrats for the crime but blame the Republicans for letting them get away with it.

The goals of the Republicans are pretty much the same as the Democrats. Increase taxation and spending. Incrementally destroy freedom and property rights. And make sure that their buddies rake in the taxpayer funded pelf (eg. shrub and the ethanol as a motor fuel boondoggle). They only differ in how they go about it. To expect a Republican to want to cut spending or reduce the size of governemnt is about as optimisting as expecting a Democrat to do so.

If the messenger is a Truther and an anti-Semite, I certainly take that into consideration. Roberts is regarded by many conservatives, including Lawrence Auster, as a lunatic. And I’ll add, if you believe he’s a font of wisdom, you had better check some of your beliefs.

We ought to be caring about what the good Lord wants, which will cut across the proverbial Gordian knot of these problems. God is making things more and more hopeless on a worldly level... on purpose. God never wanted us to get tangled up in this kind of junk, but being lax about evil (and most especially, not going to God for help if we were stumped by evil) is going to make the tangles worse and worse until there is no choice but to cry, well not really Uncle, but Father. (I suppose the Father of our Brother Jesus would be an Uncle but I hasten not to stick in that territory lest I be stoned for heresy!)
