The Coming Hillarycult?
National Review ^ | August 15, 2013 | National Review

Posted on 08/15/2013 7:17:41 AM PDT by National Review

The Left may succeed in turning Clinton into a cultural icon in the Obama mold.

By Charles C. W. Cooke

Dispiriting as it is to admit for those of us who like our republics modest and our republicans unassuming, we are living through one of those bothersome periods in American history in which cults of personality are all the rage. Cory Booker’s victory on Tuesday evening was as inevitable as will be his coronation in the Senate, followed before long by the breathless and ubiquitous talk of a Booker presidency. Nevertheless, for all his supposed virtues, the celebrity mayor of Newark will have to wait his turn, for the Obamacult has a different understudy, and she is busily readying herself for a seamless takeover. I refer, of course, to Hillary Clinton.

Hillary is done with elected office. She is the left’s equivalent of Sarah Palin, though Palin probably does see elected office in her future. She’s younger.

Hillary’s done beyond being a beloved icon of the left.

She already IS a cult figure, constructed many years ago. For some very bizarre reason, more than half of this nation thinks she’s awash with a sea of accomplishments.

I just want to hear one real reason as to why they think she’s qualified to be President. I’ve yet to hear it.

The only real job she’s had in her life was the Whitewater scam.

Her sole claim to fame is that she was married to ClintBilly, and helped him build his body count.

Sarah Palin still looks very attractive in HD.
Hillary......not so much.

Maybe it’s sexist, but that factor should not be underestimated.

Then some guy from Kenya by way of Chicago snuck in and stole the kishka....

Hillary is done with elected office.

No she isn't... not by a long shot. Have you seen the cosmetic surgery, the changed hairstyle, the speechifying on immigration and "voter suppression?"

She is most assuredly getting ready for 2016. Remember.. as late as early 2000, Hillary said she had "no plans" to run for the Senate seat in NY. She's not only a "beloved" icon of the left, but of people who claim to be in the political center as well.

Voters in this country are not a thinking lot as they were in years past. Emotion rules the day, and American women, along with the dependable minorities, queers and other members of the dems' growing demographic advantages, will support her in a huge way. The only drama that remains is whether she chooses to be president.

Got this in an email;

Each quote can be verified at your local library – page numbers are provided. Before you read these think back to why she placed herself in isolation during the days following Benghazi. She knew what she’d done. She knew the price she’d eventually pay.

“What difference does it make….” should have been her swan song had it been testimony before an Independent Counsel. However, due to the fear of losing votes by nailing her to her own cross, all but a pitiful few members of the House and Senate Joint Kiss Hillary Goodbye hearing asked her tough questions, the rest WERE GUTLESS SYCOPHANTS! Remember that in 2014! DL88

“Where is the G*damn f**king flag! I want the G*damn f**king flag up every morning at f**king sunrise.” From the book “Inside the White House” by Ronald Kessler, p.244- Hillary to staff at the Arkansas Governor’s mansion on Labor Day 1991”

F**k off! It’s enough I have to see you shit-kickers every day, I’m not going to talk to you too!! Just do your G*damn job and keep your mouth shut.”
- From the book “America Evita” by Christopher Anderson, p.90 -Hillary to her State Trooper body guards after one of them greeted her with “Good Morning”

“If you want to remain on this detail, get your f**king ass over here and grab those bags!”
From the book “The First Partner” p.259. Hillary to a Secret Service Agent who was reluctant to carry her luggage because he wanted to keep his hands free in case of an incident.

“Stay the f**k back, stay the f**k back away from me! Don’t come within ten yards of me, or else! Just f**king do as I say, Okay?”
From the book “Unlimited Access” by Clinton FBI Agent in Charge, Gary Aldrige, p.139- Hillary screaming at her Secret Service detail.

“Where’s the miserable c**k sucker!”
From the book “The Truth About Hillary” by Edward Klein, p.5. Hillary shouting at a Secret Service officer.

“You f**king idiot”
From the book “Crossfire” p.84. Hillary to a State Trooper who was driving her to an event.

“Put this on the ground! I left my sunglasses in the limo. I need those sunglasses. We need to go back!”
From the book “Dereliction of Duty” p.71-72. Hillary to Marine One helicopter pilot to turn back while en route to Air Force One.

“Come on Bill, put your d**k up! You can’t f**k her here!!”
From the book “Inside the White House” by Ronald Kessler, p.243-Hillary to Gov. Clinton when she spots him talking with an attractive female.

This ill-tempered, violent, loud mouth, hateful and abusive woman wants to be your next president and have total control as commander and chief of our Military, the very Military for which she has shown incredible disdain throughout her public life. Surely the people of the United States can easily do better than this.

Thing is, if she actually runs, all sorts of dirt will percolate to the surface. It will matter. It will matter a lot more than the cost of Palin’s wardrobe.

This is all a show with goals other than seeing her to the oval office. Again, IMO.

That's because the "righteous wrath" has never manifested into anything other than words. Much is said about the "coming conflict," but there's no evidence that's in the offing... but we'll talk about it a lot.

Part of me agrees with you.

However, I try not to underestimate the lust for power that exists in the heart of tyrants.

It defies age and logic.

Hills BMI is the same as C. Christies.

I wonder if Barbara Walters will ask if she’s too fat to run, like she did Christie.

I just want to hear one real reason as to why they think she’s qualified to be President. I’ve yet to hear it.

They think she's qualified because she's a minority (i.e. a woman), and because she has by far the highest level of name recognition. (I mean, after Obama, the whole idea of being qualified has become very squishy).

They know that with the help of their friends in the press, her time living in the White House, along with her stints as Senator and Secretary of State (however ineffective or incompetence she was) can be spun as relevant, if not stellar and wide-ranging, experience.

Among the lo-fos, those quotes make her even more endearing.

What is really going to irk me... and I'm sure it's coming ... is the band of erstwhile "conservative" prominent women who will oh-so-earnestly stress the need to take part in a historical moment as the rationale for supporting her. A LOT of people we think of as on our side are going to disappoint us in 2016.

The MSM will dismiss EVERYTHING as “unsubstantiated allegations, no evidence, old news etc.” and attack Hellery’s opponent as “nasty, mean-spirited, negative, sexist.”
That is the point we will know if our (?) candidate has any guts to defy the MSM and keep fighting.

Well, I confess that I have a little of an Ecclesiastes attitude about this. I've said since 2008 that the problem is not Obama. The problem is an electorate that votes him in. As someone else paraphrased my remarks a few years ago: I've seen the enemy, and it is us."

The election of Obama was not a statement on obama. It was a statement on our nation. And it is why I moved from my home of 45 years, Seattle, to a small farm in central KY. Which I just expanded to 32 acres on Monday. If Hillary were to actually get elected in 2016, it would only further indict our culture and even more confirm that I did the right thing.

BTW, here is that property. The 12 acres was the first piece. We were going to build a larger house on it. We're now going to put it on the other lot. That ~4 acre grassy patch is 90' above the valley on the other side of the road. Absolutely private.

Looks great, and I’ve found KY is God’s country.

I agree with you totally about Hillary. I don’t see the masses coming out for that tired old inflated hag who only became a Senator and then Sec of State because she was married to Bill and complicit in his crimes. There is way too much dirt on her that can be dredged up, and you know there have to be at least a few really talented Democratic up-and-comers who are not happy about Hillary’s anointing. I would look for a lot more articles like the one in the NY Times profiling the Clinton foundation mismanagement and malfeasance. You know there is a lot more dirt they can dredge up after all these years, as the Clintons, in their arrogance, have always figured the rules didn’t apply to them.

The marines hated her too.
