McCain: Kerry’s Message Sabotaged Egypt Mission

When Secretary of State John Kerry said the Egyptian military was “restoring democracy” just as Sens. John McCain and and Lindsey Graham were in the country urging cooperation, it undercut the mission, Sen. John McCain said.

The two Republican senators were sent to Egypt last week by President Barack Obama. They told the military to release members of the Muslim Brotherhood from jail, set up a dialogue, and move forward with elections.

“That wasn’t as impactful as it might have been given the statements and actions by the White House and the secretary of state,” McCain said Thursday on CNN’s Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.

Sometimes you gotta wonder if they are really that stupid or just pathetic at lying.

Two choices John. you are a duped stooge that filled a role or you are in on it. And considering your history I am unsure as to which, if not both is the truth.

I can imagine the three of them standing in a room trying to slap each other silly.

I don’t wonder. They are all nuts and a half inch shy of full blown dementia praecox.

Oh nuts is most definitely true. But I can picture Jon John and Linda both sitting there mouths agape when Kerry spouted off - I can also picture them both plotting like Dr. Evil in an Austin Powers movie, cackling on how their superior intellects and Godlike presences would quickly have the Egyptians marveling at the glow emanating from their greatness...

And being struck speechless when their fiendishly clever plan did not go to script.

I just don’t know for sure id stupidity, insanity or unwarranted self importance rules the day with them.

Didn’t Egyptian officials refer to McCain and Graham as idiots and McCain as a senile old man?

But, but John Kerry is John McCain's "good friend."

Kerry asked McCain to consider VP spot

McCain insisted that his friend John Kerry be the next Secretary of State when Susan Rice's nomination was deservedly rejected. Now McCain's backstabbing his friend and colleague in an attempt to not look bad? Whatta' guy.

Part of me says it would even be worse if Susan Rice were Secretary of State. Another part wonders if Obama doesn't feel vindicated if the whole world comes crashing down when he doesn't get his way.

If this report is true, it is abysmal management on Obama’s part to even send these guys over there. Anybody who manages people knows you don’t let their efforts fragment, you don’t let your mission dissipate, you minimize the number of individuals involved in any given task of persuasion — all because it is notoriously difficult to keep individuals on message, and it is pro forma for the other side to look for cracks in your team and try to leverage them into canyons.

It may or not be true, what McCain says (he is a feckless boob, after all) but the entire idea is stupid.

You have a secretary of State. You do not weaken his voice by adding other voices. You signal to the other side that this is your negotiator, there are no others, he speaks with the endorsement from the highest levels, and then you hone the message and the tactics down to where your negotiator knows exactly how to zig and zag under all possible pressures — and you shut everybody else on your side up.

(I’m CEO of a medium size company. I’ve made enough mistakes to speak with authority about them.)

Assuming that Obama even knows what is taking place, who the participants are, and that he even cares...

It’s not crazy if you have very different goals.
He managed to make them look like fools .
By sending Kerry in to say something else now it makes the two Republican kooks look very guilty of conspiring with the muslim brotherhood.
Obama is shifting the blame for what he has done on the Republicans.

Good. Eat each other up. This administration is going to unravel. The hatred for each other, the infighting, the egos, the loss of peace they face. Hope they all had a good vacation.
