RAND ON CHRISTIE: ROOM IN GOP FOR PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN BIGGER GOVT.
Breitbart.com ^ | Aug 18 2013 | Tony Lee

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said there was room in the Republican Party for people who believe in bigger government like Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, but he argued the Republican Party will grow by attracting more libertarian-leaning voters.

Paul said Christie started the feud by implying there was no room in the Republican Party for libertarian-minded people like Paul. Christie and Paul have been feuding since Christie invoked the 9/11 attacks to brand Paul's libertarian foreign policy as dangerous. Christie has continued to take shots at Paul, a likely 2016 competitor for the Republican presidential nomination, in speeches and comments since those remarks.

"There is room for people who believe in bigger government for our party," Paul said, when asked what he though about his father Ron Paul's comments that Christie "offers nothing" to the party.

Very disappointing, Rand... the unholy combination of big govt. Dims and big govt. RINOs are causing today's current problems.

Why vote for Democratic-Lite when you can vote for the real thing.

The Stupid Party strikes again.

I think this was a very obvious cut to Christie, a sarcastic insult.

There is room for people like you in The GOP, Gov. Christie; maybe you could be in charge of catering at the convention?

"...the unholy combination of big govt. Dims and big govt. RINOs are causing today's current problems..."

They're one in the same.

The bottom line to all of this, and the politician stay as far away from discussing this as they can, is term limits.

Until Congress' exposure to the corruption that is D.C. is limited by law, there will be no change.

The End!

If Chris Christie is in the house, there’s not much room left for anyone or anything else.

There isn’t a tent big enough to hold Christie.

Be kind. Rand is just trying to be a little more fair than the obnoxious Christie.

And note that he parsed his words carefully: "There is room ...". Given Christie's justifiably famous girth all the available room is probably taken up by just this one RINO.

"There is room for people who believe in bigger government for our party"

Not much question about that. The question is; will there be room for Conservatives and Christians?

Paul said Christie started the feud by implying there was no room in the Republican Party for libertarian-minded people like Paul.

I don't agree with every libertarian talking point, but as far as I know, "libertarian-minded people" are small-government people, low-taxes people, people who know the Founding Fathers would be appalled and infuriated by the idea of government assuming the power to spy on the communications of every citizen or government presuming to dictate the health-care choices of private citizens.

Christie has a point - the Republican Party increasingly has no room for people who believe in limited government. That's a pity - I happen to share those views and will not cast a vote for Chris Christie.

Neither Christie nor Paul will be the ‘Pub nominee in 2016. Nor Rubio for that matter. Needs to be a “bold colors,” conservative ‘Pub governor. And if smart, the nominee will put another conservative on the ticket, not a RINO. Must draw the greatest possible difference with Hellery the Communist.

Oh please, what the hell is he supposed to say? Everyone who doesn’t agree with him should be out of the party? If you listened to more than one soundbite he clearly is talking about shrinking government. He is just being the “bigger man” here, so to speak, while giving a backhanded slap to Christie.
