Muslim Brotherhood may face ban in Egypt after Islamists call week of protests

The Muslim Brotherhood may be banned in Egypt, says a spokesman for the country’s interim prime minister’s. The threat comes after the Islamist movement called for a week of protest against a military crackdown which has left hundreds dead.

Struggling to stamp its authority on Egypt following the ousting last month of President Mohammed Morsi, the country's new rulers have upped the rhetoric, saying the Arab world's most populous nation is at war with terrorism.

More than 700 people have died, most of them backers of Morsi, in four days of violence. That has earned Egypt stiff condemnation from Western nations, uncomfortable with Islamist rule but also with the overthrow of an elected government.

The crackdown has, however, drawn messages of support from key Arab allies like Saudi Arabia, which have long feared the spread of Brotherhood ideology to the Gulf monarchies.

Blaming a defiant Brotherhood for the bloodshed, Egyptian Prime Minister Hazem el-Beblawi proposed dissolving the group in a move that would force it underground and could usher in mass arrests of its members countrywide.

Mass arrests cant match the effectiveness of mass extermination.

Obama will invite Morsi back to the USA where his two sons who were born in the USA during his previous stay, with education, would be eligible for POTUSA by virtue of being born in the USA. Place of birth is all that matters with some people.

That’s just great. Once the MB is banned in Egypt, they’ll be looking for asylum in the US and the Terrorist-In_Chief will be only too happy to invite them in to wreak havoc on the US populace.

maybe Morsi can have his own TV show on MSNBC? there he can preach all the hate of the Nazi Muslim Brotherhood to his many adoring fans on the left. Maybe he can tell us what really happened in Bengahzi that terrible night?

I don’t think they will do so...SISI made no mention of this today in his press conference, which lasted almost an hour, where he gave a complete rundown of how the nation came to where it is today....

He spoke to the nation...to the press...to the International Leaders...and to the Muslim Brotherhood.....as well as any who would harm the nation.

He spoke precisely and without following a teleprompter or even notes ...rather he “talked” and explained clearly the Army’s intentions and his own for the nation....remarkable really to go that long and know his mind as he portrayed.

It was very telling and interesting...I was impresses on how well he understands all the people of Egypt...and you can be certain he understands the Brotherhood.

This is a man that understands his role...protector of the nation...and His nation...with no desire to run for office. He genuinely loves Egypt which is consistent with his history.

For those who would hear the story from the mans own words...as said...it is telling.....there is an interpreter.

Makes sense to me for Egypt, kind of a Back to the Future thing. Terrorist groups should never have been legalized, America never should have pressed for it. Pressure that crosses party lines.
