Beilin is a liberal from Israel’s Labor Party. I don’t know what he wants to achieve by publishing this.

Soooo...The Egyptian army rigged the elections FOR Morsi, then arranged a political coup against him?

This must be some of that "above my pay grade" thinking. Or, more likely, this guy is blowing smoke.

Ah, yes, get him into office so they see how much he sucks. BRILLIANT! /sarc

Although it explains how Obama got into office twice.

Most likely, he is full of it. There is some logic in it, though. Had the MB candidate lost, they would cry foul and likely get a boost from the MSM and WH....though their silence was deafening in the obvious fraud of Iran's re-election of Ahmadinejad.

Nevertheless, the "win" (or not) by Morsi put them in power and showed everyone the true face of the MB. They're feckless, power-hungry ideologues who cannot find their asses with both hands and a map, but excel in turmoil.

Although it explains how Obama got into office twice.

0 probably trained them on how to rig it.

Thanks Olog-hai.

[snip] “The official results, 51.73% for Morsi and 48.27% for Shafiq, were almost the exact reversal of what actually happened at the polls,” wrote Beilin. [/snip]

I was for Mubarak from way back because an Egyptian told me he wasn’t that bad. This is what we get with the media pushing the Arab Spring and it was on some mainstream boards as well. These things almost always turn out badly,

Oh I don’t know. Freepers say Morsi cheated but aren’t bothering to explain how he did it with the military keeping it honest.

I think the place is a mess and we need to stay as far away from it as possible.

I agree creek. Too bad our elected see it as their fight and ours. If we have to go back, am against a half way method. All or nothing but our elected want a means to line their pockets at the People’s expense (imho).

I agree. I can’t for the life of me tell who the”good guys” are. And, sadly I don’t think our government can either.

Not once have we been involved with a muslim country where one side was dirty and the other side was clean.

My only concern is for the Christians and I’m confused about why the Egyptian military has suddenly lost the ability to protect them.

My gut just tells me that there is something very wrong here.

Amen creek ... Amen.

Am also reminded of Ohio and Benghazi, in the similarities of it all.

When Yossi Beilin says something on domestic politics you don’t believe a word he says. Why he is getting involved in foreign matters I don’t know. This is like asking Al Sharpton what happened at the Zimmerman trial.
