At least five people were killed and 26 others wounded in overnight gun violence across Chicago.
The latest homicide took place around 4:35 a.m. Sunday near Springfield and Wilcox Avenues when a shooting injured three women and killed one man, police said.
A 24-year-old man with gang affiliations was fatally shot in the chest and pronounced dead at Mount Sinai hospital, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
Three women were also wounded in the shooting including a 23-year-old woman with wounds to both feet who was last listed in stable condition at Mount Sinai Hospital and a 21-year-old women who was shot in the chest and back and listed in grave condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
A 20-year-old woman also suffered a graze wound to the right leg but refused treatment, Mirabelli said.
Other details surrounding the shooting were not immediately available. A 19-year-old man was killed Saturday in a fatal shooting just before midnight in the 800 block of South Lawndale Avenue, police said.
The teen, who has known gang affilliations, was shot in the head while riding his bike. A witness saw him riding his bicycle in the area, heard shots and found him. The witness also saw two men fleeing the scene on bicycles, heading westbound, Mirabelli said.
The man was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai hospital just after 3 a.m., according to police.

Meanwhile, Gov. Quinn got his bill requiring private gun sellers to check potential buyers’ Firearms Owner ID cards, which bill is praised by the head of the State Police, etc.
Of course this law will have little to no effect on murders...
Every Monday morning there should be a listing of Chicagoans killed or injured by people with guns. This report would over the weekend violence but could expand to rest of week. Start with weekend. MSM probably won't touch it.
