St. Charles [Missouri] Police, Highway Patrol Arrest Overpass Protesters
danaloeschradio.com ^ | August 18, 2013 | Dana Loesch

A few of you sent me this video, published to Youtube today, of the weekend overpass protests, this one in St. Charles, Missouri. I’m still trying to figure out what laws these protesters broke. While I wasn’t there, it seems to me the protesters were standing on public ground, not in traffic, therefor not impeding traffic. Having organized and attended many protests myself — and having worked with local law enforcement to make sure regulations (even mindlessly unnecessary ones) are met, so long as a protester isn’t standing in traffic, there isn’t an issue. Am I missing something here? Don’t miss the take-down-by-force at the end.

I’m going to reach out to the Missouri Highway Patrol and St. Charles law enforcement for comment.

Don’t forget: the Missouri Highway Patrol was one of the agencies who listed protesters just like the ones in this video as “militia” and potential domestic terrorists on the April 2009 MIAC report.

I was at this event. We'll be going back next weekend.

Duane Weed, the man with the beard who was one of the two arrested, will be interviewed on The Dana Show at 12:45 pm CDT today (Monday). Webcast at: http://www.971talk.com/Other/streaming.html

Looks like they rolled every trooper in that beat plus some local PD.

Surprising they didn’t send an APC filled with JBTs.

I can see where the law may consider such protests an unsafe distraction for drivers.

Keep in mind the speed at which they are traveling.

Very easy for a short distraction to result in disaster.

Thats ALL they would need to shut down the tea party movement for good if a fatal accident were to result from protests.

Isn’t it amazing that the First Amendment (the right of the people peaceably to assemble) was repealed with no publicity at all? It must have been repealed, right, or this police action (not in the Korea/Vietnam sense) would be illegal?

THe same government allows huge changing or static billboards along traffic lanes, and allows other groups to put signs over banners, and pass under bridges full of large, readable graffiti that can easily catch your eye.

I think you understand why the charge of being a distraction is merely used as a convenient excuse by government, and is not really a genuine reason.

The possibility of a few unlikely deaths on the highway are not nearly as many as the hundreds of thousands, or perhaps millions that could occur under the hideous specter of Obamacare.

First They Came for the Jews

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

~Pastor Martin Niemöller

Community and individuality are not opposites. People cannot survive on their own. When the odds are stacked against you, you must rally with the oppressed and hated.

When a growing oppressive regime is taking hold, you must act, otherwise you will soon face your enemy alone and hopeless.

Strength of community is a strength as much as individualism, as long you are willing to face weaknesses in your own community. Ignoring slacking values will mean that you will be rallied against by those you oppress.

Niemöller affirms we must rally against unhealthy organized regimes. We must also stay vigilant with those that appear to be good natured, as all organisation attracts corruption. Niemöller also warns us that if it is you who are corrupt, then you will face a stronger combined force of foe!

I REALLY don't want to agree with you ... but I can see, if that doesn't happen, that is the justification, and we may not be able to win that fight.

IDK ...

The Occutards and the TreyGone protesters routinely waltzed out into the middle of the freeways and attacked motorists - all with impunity.

If we are so timid that peaceful protests done within the letter of the law is too risky of behavior then we may as well go draw a warm bath and slit our wrists.
