I just heard an Al Jazeera commercial on Beck’s program (WRVA Richmond).

Waiting to hear if it is a joke or not. Sounds real though.

Posted this on Direct TV’s facebook page and got the following reply almost instantly!

Today is Al Jazeera’s first day on cable tv and we are being charged for it! How does this reflect American values??

DirecTV Hey John, Al Jazeera America actually is not a new channel, but actually was rebranded from Current TV, a channel DIRECTV already carried. Since Al Jazeera assumed Current TV’s contracts with providers like DIRECTV, there were no new negotiations or contracts signed to carry the channel. By carrying Al Jazeera America under an existing contract, we are maintaining our typical channel offering. Thank you. -Charles

Sad to say this is not an anomaly.

Our society is rotting. Since when is sexual assault an acceptable form of hazing? Hazing is horrible anyway, but this goes way beyond that. Heaven help us.

Beck is wrong about Al Jazeera. Has he ever watched it? Yes, I know where they’re coming from, but the times I watched it, they were more honest than our US networks.

They covered the story about the release of the Palestinian prisoners and showed the family members of Israelis who were murdered and interviewed one of them so that she could give her side.

The most biased reporting I have seen on AJ has been on fracking. They are scared to death that the US won’t need their oil.

We have much more to fear from the commies who run MSNBC than we do any external threat.

We ditched cable for several reasons: 1 They kept increasing their prices. 2 We paid for channels we don’t watch and don’t want - MSNBC, green channel. queer channel.
3 Cable is a government protected monopoly that collects a sneaky tax every time the cable company donates to the local government schools.

I guess because Al Jazeera made a deal with Comcast, we no longer get it on our Roku. It was the only live streaming news we could get, and compared to the US news networks, it was very good. They had the best live coverage of what was happening in Egypt and Syria.

I’m not the one who is paying for cable or satellite. I don’t give money to any of those bundled channels providers. If I watch Al Jazeera on Roku how is that supporting terrorists?

Al Jazeera has some of the best coverage of world news I have seen. I’m not afraid of them. I understand where they are coming from. The liberals who run the MSM in the US are a much greater threat to our freedom and our rights than what AJ has to say.

Now if you want to talk about the threat that Muslims living in this country are to us, that’s a different matter. If I were Queen for a Year, I would ban Islam as being incompatible with freedom and send all Muslims back to some Muslim country. But I have no problem with watching news from almost any source, as long as I am free to turn it off when I want.

Anti-Al Jazeera posters have recently appeared in Egypt saying, “A bullet kills a man, a lying camera kills a nation.” This attitude led to the new government closing the channel, after 22 staffers quit in disgust over its pro-Muslim Brotherhood bias.

Al Jazeera is the voice of the Muslim Brotherhood, the group now laying siege to Egypt and burning Christian churches there.

On Sunday, CNN’s media criticism show “Reliable Sources” featured a discussion of the launch of Al Jazeera America. While Egyptian Christian churches burn because of what the channel has done there, Al Jazeera America was given a warm welcome not only by the American media, but also by the Congress of the United States. This show was no exception.

A good guest would have been Raymond Ibrahim, author of Crucified Again: Exposing Islam’s New War on Christians (2013) and The Al Qaeda Reader (2007). He told AIM, “One thing I can tell: concerning events in Egypt, Al Jazeera has willfully been manipulating truth to the favor of the Brotherhood—even sometimes portraying the very large masses of anti-Morsi protesters as pro-Morsi protesters, and lots of other distortions that violate any code of journalistic [ethics].”

Instead, CNN’s “Reliable Sources” guest host Joanne Lipman invited Michael Calderone of The Huffington Post and Edward Felsenthal of Time.com to discuss the channel. They never once mentioned the words “Muslim Brotherhood.”

John Siegenthaler, David Shuster, Soledad O’Brien, Antonio Mora, Joie Chen, Michael Viqueira and Ali Velshi are among the media personalities accepting money from the channel once known as the voice of Osama bin Laden.

One of the most blatant examples of media manipulation, in order to mask the channel’s terrorist roots, is adding “America” to its name...

Soledad O’Brien Joins Al Jazeera

This is just WAY too funny.

Soledad O’Brien, who failed miserably at CNN, is actually going to Al Jazeera.

The Wrap reported moments ago:

Former CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien has reached a deal with Al Jazeera America in which she will contribute short segments and her production company, Starfish Media Group, will produce hour-long documentary specials.

O’Brien will serve as special correspondent to Al Jazeera America’s primetime current affairs magazine program “America Tonight.”

“O’Brien’s career producing and reporting on the human side of many of the most important stories of the past decade will fit in perfectly with what Al Jazeera America will be covering every day,” said Ehab Al Shihabi, executive director of Al Jazeera’s international operations.

Yeah, I’m SURE it will!

After all, if you can’t be successful espousing far-left, anti-American views at CNN, where better to do it than the anti-America Al Jazeera?

It appears that this “news network” is going to be the resting place of many of America’s failed television commentators.

I can’t wait to see who’s next.

That said, let’s take a trip down memory lane to review some of O’Brien’s “finer” moments at CNN:

Soledad O’Brien Challenges GOP: Do Minorities ‘Know You and They Decided They Don’t Like You?’

Readers are advised that’s only this year.

Have fun at Al Jazeera, Soledad.

I doubt that.
However, I am very interested in Roku, and I want to know more about it.
But from what I've researched, it'll take about $300 worth of equipment for me to get started in it.
I don't have a wireless router.
I don't have HDTVs.

Have you tried "The BLAZE TV" and if so, what did you find lacking in its news?

David Shuster, ABC News Executive Join Al-Jazeera America for August 20 Arab Propaganda Launch

David “Karl Rove Will Be Indicted” Shuster is the latest cable-news host to join the Al-Jazeera America team. CNN’s Ali Velshi signed up early, and Soledad O’Brien will be a special correspondent providing documentaries. The channel launches and replaces Current TV on August 20, the channel Al Gore sold (out) to the emir of Qatar in January for a reported $500 million (and maybe more). Current TV is presently available in 60 million homes, and seen by much, much less.

As part of its ongoing campaign to buy all the “mainstream” TV news veterans it can to rub prestige on itself, the Arab “news” channel also hired a new president in ABC News executive Kate O’Brian, a 30-year veteran of ABC. ABC News chief Ben Sherwood called the news “exciting and bittersweet.” In the official press release, O’Brian, like other new hires, praises the al-Jazeera brand as synonymous with excellence, not Jew-baiting, America-bashing propaganda:

“Al Jazeera America will demonstrate that quality journalism is alive and well in the United States,” she said. “Working alongside the talented journalists at ABC News has prepared me to take this step and I am deeply grateful for thirty years at that outstanding organization. As I bring everything I learned to this new role I’m looking forward to showing the Al Jazeera viewers that there is a strong demand for the type of in depth reporting for which Al Jazeera is so well known.”

Senior Vice President David Doss, who will also be based in New York City, comes to Al Jazeera America from CNN where he was senior executive producer for “Anderson Cooper 360.” He was also an executive producer for both ABC and NBC News...

Doss said that Al Jazeera America will provide him with the opportunity that every serious journalist looks for. “It’s impossible not be impressed by the journalistic standards Al Jazeera demands of its reporters and producers,” he said. “We will report the news that isn’t seen every night elsewhere and will do it with strict adherence to the principles that have won Al Jazeera so many awards from the profession. I joined Al Jazeera America to be part of that culture.”

AJA also hired long-time CBS News executive Marcy McGinnis as senior VP for newsgathering. “McGinnis was at the helm of the CBS newsgathering operation during coverage of 9/11, the war in Afghanistan, and Hurricane Katrina. She was one of the primary architects of CBS News’ award-winning coverage of the war in Iraq.” One might see how covering Bush’s wars (and Katrina) for CBS would impress Al Jazeera.

The senior VP for documentaries and programs will be Shannon High-Bassalik, another network veteran. “Before joining CNN, Shannon was executive producer of development for NBC Peacock Productions, vice president of daytime program development and several other senior positions at MSNBC.”
