I was unaware of this facility.

Looks like it was valuable enough to rebuild the huge piers fairly recently.

Workplace violence?

If it was, I'm sure they'll let us know.

I was trying to figure out exactly what that was, but an outdoor testing tank for models makes sense (except for the winter temps in NJ)

I was unaware of this facility.

It's been just up the coast from us forever, have not thought much about it now that the nukes are gone.

How do I know the nukes are gone? When rent-a-cops take the place of United States Marines as base security, the nukes are gone.

I remember in 1973 an explosion occurred in the machine shop at Coast Guard Base Cape May.

Turns out a couple of machinist mates were blow torching a WWII torpedo they fished out.

It couldn’t have been. The NSA would have picked up on it after reading his emails and FR posts.

If you look to the lower left side of the tank, you can see what looks like a Half hull.

(except for the winter temps in NJ)

LOL just think of the size of the pool heater and what the taxpayers are paying for it

Good minds and all that ... I thought what a kicka$$ fishing pier the old pier would make.

It used to be restricted waters...get within 1700 feet and you got a visit from the Coasties and if you mouthed off, they seized you and your boat.

Earle is huge. The bay location in Middletown (Leonardo, actually) connects with Earle's other facility in Colts Neck via a service road (Normandy Rd.)

If you're a private citizen, it's best if you don't take a wrong turn and get caught driving on Normandy Rd.

They uses to have several supply ships stationed there.

-—in the boat shop? Just trying to hop up the admiral’s yacht with a new supercharger, I expect. Forgot to read the manual? The only thing that can blow up in a boat shop is a can of really expensive paint.
