“J.C. Siddoway of Terreton says almost all of the sheep died from asphyxiation. About 10 died of bite wounds and one was partially consumed.”

I guess they piled up on each other as the wolves ringed them? Unless the rancher piled them up after and that is what the pic is. Or do agitated sheep just keel over after a while?

Freegards

Mine did. And Karma acted a bit swifter than I imagined.

Don’t ‘rescue’/adopt wolf or wolfdogs unless you have a 10ft high fence.

maybe there was a reason they killed all these things 100 yrs ago

Top of the list of the enviro-marxists reasons for introducing the Canadian red wolf into Montana almost two decades ago was to drive the ranchers out of business. Outfitters and hunting guides too. To deprive hunters of wild meat to feed their families as well.

As with most hardcore leftists their stated objective (to restore the 'noble' wolf to Yellowstone Park and neighboring environs) was but a screen. Really they hoped to hurt resident working stiffs, families and businesses.

And they have.

I think maybe they could use a few of our Giant Great Pyrenees. Males over 200lbs, strong and fast.

Round ‘em up and set them loose in Chicago for a couple of months, then Oakland and then, and then......

My wife and I are thinking of raising a few head of goats. I will likely have to deal with the damn coyotes and occasional cougar.

Left out of the movie “Dances with Wolves”

Which happened to be one of the biggest Leftist propaganda movies of all time.

I’m guessing the rancher piled them up (to burn them?).

Asphyxiation? I don’t know - do sheep huddle around each other so close in fear and do nothing except huddle closer and then die of blocked airways because of the wool? Could be. While a few sheep on the outskirts, perhaps even “brave” sheep try to fight off the wolves but die? (Hmm - no wonder some are called “sheeple”.)

When we visited ID a couple of years ago, I learned that one wolf is responsible for the deaths of about 40 ungulates (hoofed animal) every year. They consume less than half of those they kill. The rest are just killed for “sport”.

They also threaten the health of ungulates by driving them from their natural feeding and breeding grounds.

Agitated sheep will drop dead when being chased, but judging from the picture they asphyxiated while crowded together while being worried by the wolves.

I was at a wildlife sanctuary and an alpha female charged at me.

Thank God the fence was there.

All part of Agenda 21. They're shutting down mining claims, stopping public access to public lands and burdening citizens with mountains of bureaucratic red tape when they want to build on their own remote properties.

Much as I love dogs and admire the Hell out of wolves, I do not ever want to be in the presence of the latter on their ground.

I tell you even just playing with my own dog, a 19 month old female German Shepherd of about 62 lbs, I would not want to be on the receiving end of her anger at all, not that she’s angry.

I consider her right under a wolf in terms of her physical ability, speed, intelligence and desire to hunt. This dog, essentially a child still, could absolutely shred me if she wanted.

I cannot even imagine what a wolf could do...much less an alpha. Still I respect the Hell out of them, and I still like to admire them from afar where it’s safe.

No doubt, varmintman, though I would not want to shoot one unless I had no other choice. I would say that the highest animals I would be okay with killing for food would be a dear or pig.

I would not want to shoot a bear or wolf or big cat or great cat, or any other sort of big game, unless of course it was about to kill me.

My wife and I may start raising a few head of goats. If it works out, I may consider one of your dogs.
