The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill sees the recognition of same-sex unions by Western countries as a portent of doom. He called upon Russians to ensure that sin is never formalized by the rule of law.

"We face enormous temptations when countries start approving sin and codifying it into law in order to justify it,” Itar-Tass quoted the patriarch as saying after the Sunday service in the Kazan Cathedral on Red Square.

I don’t think it brings us any closer to the apocalypses (G_d has his own time table), just makes us more aware of it’s near approach.

Actually, it doesn’t. Breakdown of society? Yup. Apocalypse? Nope.

But the repression of Christians that is resulting from the mad push for forced acceptance of gay sex? Well, yup...

No argument here. The last Pope is in Rome, the Anti-Christ is in charge of the most powerful army ever known and the Superbowl halftime show is described in Revelations 17.

During the war in Kosovo I knew we were on the wrong path and Russia was taking the high road. That seems to have been just the start.

I am looking forward to see how Putin deals with Islam. I am sure the church is going to have a role in it.

Russia has more problems with Islam then we ever did yet only now it seems Putin is recognizing them as a real threat. Not in the sense of military threat but as a quite invading threat.

I've been saying for some time that part of the explanation for Putins' embrace of the church is chess-playing, long-term strategic thinking. He knows, maybe not in his heart, but in his brain and in his guts, that the only way to fight a religion like Islam is to encourage the Christian religion. The lesser of two evils (in his mind). But whatever his motivation are, I'll take it.

Putin wasn’t as concerned when the US was pretending to be fighting muslim extremists. Now he’ll deal with his way. I have a feeling we’re more than going back to the pre 67 borders. We’re going back to the Russians being Egypt’s best ally.

In Canada, we are further down the slippery slope into the moral abyss than the U.S.A. — we legalized same-sex marriage in 2005 and despite a lot of public opposition at that time and a change in government, parliament was never able to find a majority vote to rescind what the Patriarch rightly calls “the legalization of sin.”

And he is absolutely right that this brings into very clear view the prospect of God’s moral condemnation of the west, for indeed, America is only lagging slightly behind the herd as they drop one by one into this cesspool of moral depravity.

The idea that this is some libertarian triumph is ambiguous at best. Given that the libertarian point of view is often atheistic, still there is just as much to be lost in terms of freedom of association and freedom to do business as you see fit, as supposedly is gained from freedom to love and marry as you choose. But on this issue, I believe we see the glaring weakness of libertarian philosophy as contrasted with principled conservatism, for there, people are more motivated to think in terms of the survival of the larger foundations of freedom, which must of necessity take us back to the world’s best known expression of it, the vision of the American founding fathers to create a moral order of liberty respecting foremost the rights of the Creator and then those of the individuals He created (in His image, and here lies the disproof of the Satnic theology that gives false hope to progressives that God is on their side. I believe through Spiritual discernment that this is a dangerous delusion and may indeed be that final delusuion of which we were so abundantly warned in Scripture.

It is surprising and to some extent puzzling that Russia, not that transformed from its cynical communist past, and led by an arch-example of that regime, has chosen to stand virtually alone among advanced nations against the rainbow and also Islamist (and to some extent climate change too) portions of the globalist agenda. They used to design that agenda in the Kremlin just as a hobby.

All praise to the Holy Spirit for its many wonders that can transcend even these imponderables. But we need to find our own steadfast leaders who are uncompromisingly opposed to all of this Satanic delusion, before it destroys what is left of our liberty and moral integrity.

Hmm,what if one guy decided to get a sex change and become a woman. Would that make it a heterosexual marriage?
Just kidding, of course. God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, or Adam and Eve, Mary, Susie and Joan.

Same sex marriages are an abomination as are the once-Mormon practice of multiple wives.

Same sex, yes, but multiple wives? Where in the Bible does it say it is an "abomination"? Ironically, you are quoting the Book of Mormon which does indeed call it that, but it was obviously practiced in the Old Testament, and without condemnation.

Can't say I disagree. Remember Bork's "Slouching Toward Gomorrah"? He was right.

“We face enormous temptations when countries start approving sin and codifying it into law in order to justify it,”

He’s taking some liberties with “we” here. I mean, some may have felt “enormous temptation” when the government legalized gay marriage, but it’s safe to say most of us didn’t hear wedding bells ringing.
