What a joke. I wonder how many people are going to die because of what he did. This country is a disgrace. He’ll be out in ten.

I don’t know, is sending a fag to a male prison considered punishment or winning the lottery?

Smoke screen. How did he have such a “Need to Know” to have access to that many documents in the first place? Little secret that isn’t so secret: Security of national secrets is a joke.

The military of Patton, McArthur, Eisenhower, Marshall, Bradley and Nimitz would have convicted Manning for treason and taken him out to the firing squad.

What we are seeing with the Manning verdict is the new progressive military led by hand picked politically correct generals taking decisive action. Wait until the Hasan verdict given the prosectors have been forbidden to talk about terrorism.

Am I the only one who found it somewhat offensive to see Manning paraded before the cameras each day in his dress uniform? He forfited the right to wear that the day he passed secrets to Wikileaks. He should have been in prison-issue scrubs.

Remember HIS best bud is in the WHITE HOUSE.

I’d put good money on an presidential pardon as O exists...

No he won’t. Federal charges have no early release or parole. 35 years means 35 years. This means that he will be released from prison when he’s 62 years old, outside of a presidential pardon.

The only question that remains, and has for a long time, is whether he will spend his time at the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, KS; or the United States Penitentiary, Administrative Maximum Facility (ADX), in Florence, Colorado.

Of the two, he had better pray to whatever gods he worships that it is Fort Leavenworth, because there is at least the possibility that he could survive there.

Were this simply a military offense, it would guarantee the former. But Manning managed to offend a dozen government agencies, who may not be happy about the Pentagon claiming unique punitive jurisdiction. They will want bitter revenge, and so they will lobby for ADX.

In Obamaland, treason is no big deal. Just like Black on White crime, voter intimidation, etc, crime and punishment (or lack thereof) is determined by The Won and you better never forget that!

Just read on Drudge where he is eligible for parole after serving one-third of his sentence. I doubt he’ll get it the first time around. Wonder if he’ll go to Leavenworth or to some Super Max.

The way I understand the law, which is just an layman's view, is the government had to prove his intent was to pass info directly to, not indirectly, specific known enemy spies, not broadcast across the bandwaves in public.

Ya , I know, that leaves a BIG LOOPHOLE for future spies to claim "whissleblower" status.

Sucks bigtime...

Yes, and he has already served 3, so he has only 8 to go. One way to look at it: He will be out miway through Hillary’s 2nd term in office.

The media outlets are all saying he is eligible for parole after about 10 years.

This was military court, not federal court. Eligible for parole after 1/3 of the sentence, so a little over 10 years, with time served.
