Georgia Tech sophomore Nick Selby on Sunday delivered quite possibly the craziest and most impassioned welcome back pep talk in the history of ever. And if it doesnt excite or inspire you, you made need to check your pulse and make sure youre breathing.

"whereas in Matlab, it is one to n."
But one-origin is not recommended.
Saw this on Neil Cavuto yesterday. Awesome!
I have to admit I was pumped up by the speech until I saw the hats that the students were wearing. Took away from the whole speech....
The hats are problematic.....
But did you see the composition of the audience? We have to import people with brains now—our educational system has beaten our children into a hip hop stupor. I wonder where that kid went to high school?

So because many of these kids appear to be of Asian heritage... that automatically means they’re “imported”. You know, a lot of people originally from Asia live here. And have for a long time.
I’m of German heritage. My father is a German national. Am I “imported”? How would you know?
Yup, that was a pretty bone-headed comment. The beautiful thing about the US is that most people come here (definitely most of those from East Asia) wanting to become Americans. Except for Canada, there is no other country in the world that holds that promise. You might move to Germany and find a way to become a citizen, but they will never recognize you as German. We are all imported, except for the American Indian.
Engineering Students from Other Countries
“Nonresident aliens received a similar share of engineering
degrees in 2011 and 2010. The proportion of nonresident aliens that received a doctorate remained the same as 2010 at 54.2 percent, while the proportion of those receiving masters degrees decreased from 46.1 percent in 2010 to 44.4 percent in 2011.”
Deal with the facts.

My comment was meant as in indictment of the US educational system—not a slam on immigrants. My grandfather got off the boat in 1908.
Goosebumps. I would LOVE to send a kid to GT. Great school.

A lot of foreigners come here for the college education and go home when they are finished. They don’t come here to become Americans.
—You might move to Germany and find a way to become a citizen, but they will never recognize you as German. We are all imported, except for the American Indian—
They were self-imported from Siberia. No human beings are indigenous to the Americas, they all came from somewhere else.
