The guns had serial numbers sawed off, or so I heard. They were thought to be stolen. Now whether these kids stole them from their original owners or whether they got them from somebody else who had stolen them, I don’t know.
Yes, I live in northeast OK (Tulsa area) and this case is in Duncan in south-central OK. The local media are following it pretty well, especially in OKC. I would say the postings on FR from the Aussie media are more informative. Basic status is preliminary hearings for charges and getting them certified as adults. This will open the court proceedings considerably.
The local prosecutor has been forthright in his statements about the crime and was the one who revealed the “bored” aspect behind the crime. I’m hoping the local media kicks it up a notch in some investigative reporting about these low-lifes and the dysfunction from which they appear to have sprung. I’ve only seen mothers and other females in the court hallway footage so it appears this is another case of males acting as sperm donors only.

“Bored” is not a word you will hear around here.
When I was a kid (numerous years ago) if/when we got “bored”, we got to clean the barn or the chicken coop, split more firewood, weed the garden, etc. We never ran out of things to keep us occupied.
Perhaps the cities where these “sewer rats” are spwaned need to consider a “Youth Work Program”. Failure to get into the program, you loose your welfare checks plus other handouts, you either work or go to jail where there is a job waiting for you as you enter the door.
Yep. They'll own the big cities and, to an extent, the connecting interstate highways... for a while.

Seems like all of the parents are surprised that their kids are in or trying to get into a gang. Agree with you; if they would have been more involved as parents this may not have happened. A little too late now.
