You imply they covered it in the first place.

Many of the “charges” went back when he was a democrat congressman in DC never covered by MSM either.

Of the 18 women, none have gone to the police for criminal charges either so one wonders where the money goes.

Just wonderin’, suppose his retirement check will be bigger than mine? And I tried to do the right thing for 36+ years at my job. Don’t ever remember being accused of any misconduct against the opposite sex. Or the same sex for that matter. LOL! Severance package? CHA CHING!!!!!

That’s not the way it works. The City Council will run things for a while, until there is a special election.

Does Filner have time to establish residency in NY City and run for mayor there?

He will be a great fit with disgraced New Yorkers like The Weiner and Eliot Spitzer.

Filner is thinking to himself, “Where did I go wrong?” Look at all the other prominent democrats caught doing disgusting things and they’re still in the news and loved.

“How much is this going to cost the taxpayers?”

Plenty. He probably wants the city to pay for his legal bills and more. Gloria Allred’s clients are/were city employees who claim they were harassed on the job. I would prefer to keep Filner around a while and not give him a dime. Let him go bankrupt paying his own legal bills.

Looks like litigation costs including, but not limited to, potential damages from the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against him by Irene McCormack Jackson, his former director of communications.

Okay, I haven’t been following this, so I needed to make some assumptions.

The article never mentioned party, so that tells me he’s a Leftist.

But I see Gloria Allred led the charge after him, so that makes me think he was a Republican.

Which is true?

Compare the MSM coverage of Filner to how they covered the charges against Herman Cain, and you will see all that you need to know.

I would label Filner as a communist. I think All-red and the “prgressives” want Filner out because he hurts their brand. They want to replace Filner with another “progressive who will move forward with the progressive agenda.” Filner probably would not have been elected last November without the votes of the 0bama voters. In a special election with lower voter turnout to replace Filner I think a Republican has a good chance of winning the election.

As long as he was a congressman in a position to advance a progressive agenda his behavior was apparently tolerated. As mayor, not so much I guess.

From your linked story:

At several times during his time as mayor, Filner has come to terms with an opponent only to change his mind. For example, Filner agreed to a deal with the Tourism Marketing District then refused to adhere to the terms. He also pulled permits for a remodeling project by Jack-in-the-Box in North Park and meddled in the development of a multi-unit complex called CentrePointe. Source: http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/San-Diego-Mayor-Bob-Filner-to-Resign-220675401.html#ixzz2cirl2Iga

I'm guessing that this may the "rest of the story" to this story. Everyone has known for years that Filner is a filthy lecherous scumbag. He just ended up crossing the wrong person(s) one too many times.

I hope it’s a bundle so the voters don’t soon forget what they did by electing this guy. And further, I hope someone points out where the lawsuit money could have been put to better use by the city.

“He’s a leftist dem. (There I go, being redundant again) “

No, you are wrong! He’s much, much worse. His father was a Communist, so you know where Filner is politically!

About his father:

“Joe Filner, who died in 2000, ran in some high-level circles. He was a businessman and labor organizer in New York and befriended a man named Stanley Levison. A New York lawyer, Levison had been a financier of the Communist Party USA and became the closest white advisor to Martin Luther King, Jr.”

“Filner is thinking to himself, “Where did I go wrong?” Look at all the other prominent democrats caught doing disgusting things and they’re still in the news and loved.”

Where he went wrong is he tried to be a progressive mayor of what used to be a very conservative town. SD is moving in his direction, but it’s not there yet.

He shot his wad too soon.

The only question now is how much did he blackmail the citizens of San Diego out of to resign- legal fees, awards to all of the victims, full retirement benefits, etc, etc.

I think I read that the council will vote for someone to preside over council meetings, and since Democrats have a majority of the council, it will be a Democrat. The vote for mayor was close, and it may be an opportunity for Republicans to win back the mayor’s office in the special election, but please, no more gay Republicans, please.
