Civil rights leader Julian Bond Friday called North Carolina the new Mississippi because of its voter-ID law.
"North Carolina has become the new Mississippi," Bond said on a program that will air Friday night on "Political Capital with Al Hunt'' on Bloomberg TV.
"They've just taken an enormous step backward in voting rights and a series of things because of the domination of Republicans in the House and the Senate and in the governor's chair,'' said, who who is a former chairman of the national NAACP and a former Georgia legislator.
And Washington DC is the new Moscow.
A lot of restrictions of voter eligibility early in the nation’s history should be looked at again, imho, but I would add people that are just this plain stupid should not be allowed either.
Julian Bond needs to shut the hell up. Nobody gives a damn about that cokehead.
Julian is a “White African-American,” I.e., he’s light skinned. That means he’s high on the pecking order. So, if the Blacks know what’s good for them, they better show respect for Mr. Julian.

You have to understand that at least for Blacks it’s a kind of reparations, they want to vote multiple times to make up for the past when they were not allowed to vote. (sarc)

But a least they aren’t the new Chicago where blacks are killed in the street by the hundreds. Those people really hate them there. These places just expect you to present an ID to make sure you arent voting under some other person’s name.
Absolutely not a step back, but a step forward. Why all these poor under-serviced residents will finally have the ID required to take a plane flight, write a check, enter a federal building, apply for benefits, etc. It is probably one of the more positive steps forward, helping all those people who have been denied the basics for so long in order to feed the liberal voting machine who will now have the dignity of having an official identification card.
