California Begins Confiscating Legally-Purchased Guns

It is not surprising that the first police raids to take legally-purchased firearms from citizens are in California. Until recently, the state had the strictest gun control laws and the liberal run state government has always looked unfavorably on the Second Amendment.

Earlier this year, the state legislature expanded the list of what they call “prohibited persons” – people who have legally registered a firearm but, for various reasons, are no longer allowed their Second Amendment rights. These reasons were expanded to include people who are behind on state taxes, did not pay toll fees in a “timely” manner and a wide range of other minor misdemeanors or reported mental health concerns.

In preparation for the crackdown, the state authorized $24 million to hire additional officers to track down 20,000 people on the list. One person on this list was Joe Mendez.

A police officer came to the door and lured Mendez out of his house with a story of a hit and run report. Once outside, he had M16s pointed within inches of his face, was taken into custody and had all weapons removed from his house.

It is important to remember that these were legally- purchased and registered firearms.

This should be required reading in college, replacing “Lesbians in History: Our Changing Past”.

OK, I'm not seeing it, and the author didn't link to any supporting documentation in his full piece.

Don’t be concerned about blasphemers of how WE spell.

Be concerned about blasphemers of the GOSPEL.

(OK, pun intended)

I tried to do a little research, but didn’t have much luck. All of the stories about this guy are all essentially the same, and I can seem to get any more information. What city did this take place in? Is the guy’s name really “Joe”, or some variant? What did he do to get on the list in the first place? I know a lot of people who shouldn’t have access to guns - maybe Joe is one of them, but we’ll never know without some more details.

It’s common today with the computer being trusted to locate the errors. Some editors like Microsoft Word are pretty good about singling out grammar problems. Others can only flag spelling errors.

We are having a problem with evil spells that have nothing to do with spelling.

Now tell me all you Kalifornia FReepers why you still continue to live behind enemy lines.

We're ALL behind enemy lines now, genius. You think your state is safe? I laugh at your naivete.

You can have your guns taken away if you're late on your Fast-Trak? Seems a little harsh.

I see some bait-and-switch in this story: The author says you can get your guns taken if you’re late on your Fast-Trak (toll roads), but does not say what Mendez’s problem is. Is he a wife-beater? Doesn’t say. A felon? Doesn’t say. On probation? Bail? Doesn’t say.

Maybe it’s an excerpting thing....

Registered, that is the operative word.

"Shoot back" - that's the coming operative phrase. Until the JBTs start coming home in body bags, they'll continue to oppress.

Do you want to start climbing up into that boxcar voluntarily, or do you intend to mimic the Jews of Warsaw and fight back?

Perhaps California citizens don’t care about personal rights — they’d rather have the State cuddle and breastfeed them.

Just look at the numbnuts they put in office.

there’s a good part of the state that would love to secede fom the lower half, essentially.

As things stand at this moment, the most effective way to revolt is to move to some other state as soon as possible.

When it is time to bury your guns, perhaps it is time to use them instead.

the best thing to do is buy up a good rural property in a good 2a state. let the lib states and liberal-run cities implode under their own insane policies.
