Dear Comrade Doctor,

The Bionic Man did not exist. It was just a TV show. Your comment however confirms a suspicion that I have had for some time.

As I have always suspected, the problem with liberals is that they have difficulty discerning between what’s on TV and what exists in reality.

This explains why Al Sharpton, Roseanne Barr, Phil Donahue and Barack Obama were liberal hits on TV essentially for acting foolish and yet you also allowed them to influence the direction of the Democrat Party-- for the exact same reason.

It’s very likely that you think that Barack Obama is just a TV show, kind of like in the movie the Truman Show.

I find it hilarious that you’ve turned over the future of your party to a guy who is mainly famous, not for what he’s actually accomplished, but rather because he’s on TV a lot.

However, your comment goes much deeper than that.

Because it also shows the slovenliness of liberals in general, and you, Comrade Doctor, in particular.

If you had taken the time to do an internet search you would have found out in the approximately 21 seconds that it took me that $6,000,000 back in 1974- that’s when when the Six Million Dollar Man first aired- would today have the same purchasing power of $28,429,533.47.

The $28,429,533.47 Man? Sounds like Obama spending a night on vacation.

They have a nifty calculator at the BLS site- along with other sites- that adjusts for inflation.

Of course bionic costs would have by this time plunged because of improved technology, higher productivity and offshore labor.

These points essentially would be lost on you.

Likely you would instead use those numbers to “prove” the validity of income inequality, citing the rumor that the money “invested” to create Bionic Woman didn’t come close to the Six Million Dollar Man. You’d probably also throw in a complaint that she only got three seasons, while the bionic man got five.

And then of course you’d wonder why there wasn’t a black, Hispanic or Asian “person of bionics” or why they deliberately ignored the obvious link to the transgendered.

Is it possible, you’d write in your blog, that the Bionic Woman was really first a man who was diagnosed with Gender Dystopia and they did the other work just to cover up the fact that Old, White-Men Scientists with the Government were uncomfortable with the topic?

Plus, how would they attach the solar panels to her head to ensure that she only ran on “green” energy? I guess we’d have to hope the there were no national emergencies on cloudy days.

Eventually you’d tie the whole scandal back to: 1) Abe Lincoln being gay; 2) Cavemen being gay and 3) George Bush. Not. Being. Gay.

It’s sooooo predictable.

Para Dimz wrote: The connection between Egypt and gas prices is remote unless you would have tied that situation to Syria, which you did not. Let me put it this way. The middle east has been unstable since 1973. Pricing risk factors should have, by now, been a permanent strucural part of the price of oil.- The Civil War Rages in Public in Egypt; and in the United States Behind Closed Doors

Dear Comrade Para,

I wouldn’t say that Middle East has been “unstable,” until recently under Obama’s foreign policy.

Egypt has had the same government since Nasser took over in 1956. When Nasser died, Sadat took over. When Sadat was assassinated, Mubarak took over. They were all part of the same ruling class.

Syria has had the same Ba’athist government since the mid-1960s and the father and son Assads have ruled the country since 1971.

In Iran the ayatollahs have been in charge since 1979; Saddam ruled Iraq from 1979 on as well. In Libya, Gaddafi had been in power since 1969.

The Saudi family has been head of the government since 1932.

As to your point about Egypt, Syria and oil prices, I have tied the general instability in the region to rising oil prices, including Syria, elsewhere in Townhall.

But here you go, just for you: “I hereby declare that I tie the rise in oil prices to Egypt AND SYRIA, plus any unmentioned Middle East countries enjoying the fruits of Obama’s rapid destabilization of the region.”

There is plenty of evidence that demand for oil is slipping because of the worldwide recession. And there is plenty of evidence that at the same time, supply is going up because of innovations in recovery techniques led by the USA.

“Demand for crude produced by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries will shrink by 400,000 barrels a day next year to 29.4 million a day,” reports Bloomberg

All well and good but the REAL question is; What was sex like between The bionic man and the bionic woman?

For that matter ... let's talk about Superman and Lois Lane ...

Obama has created a bizarro US foreign policy---dedicated to elevating the Muslim Brotherhood using US tax dollars...with a quirky sideshow----a gay drumbeat and act after act of self-made Black Victims whining....and collecting... about assorted grievances.

As usual, Obobo is on the wrong side-----the rebels against Assad are the same jihadist bunch killing Christians in Egypt.

The Syrian Islamics want Assad out b/c he accepts Christians (and presumably does not endorse Islamic slaughter of Christians).

Coincidentally (snix), Russia and China (who would veto any UN move against Assad) have rallied behind Gen al-Sisi and denounced the Muslim slaughter of Christans in Egypt.

AS FREEPER PENELOPESIRE INSIGHTFULLY POSTED: Wait until the Saudis and Egyptians get through waterboarding the truth out of the Muslim Brotherhood leaders they have in custody! All of Obama’s little secrets on Benghazi and arming Islamists and Al Quaeda throughout the Middle East are going to come falling out of the bag.

Arif Alikhan, assistant secretary of Homeland Security for policy development;

Mohammed Elibiary, a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council;

Rashad Hussain, the U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference;

Salam al-Marayati, co-founder of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC);

Imam Mohamed Magid, president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA);

Eboo Patel, a member of President Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships.

Everyday this berserk jerk (and the hate groups he cultivates) has his filthy hands on the levers of OUR govt, is another attack against Western Civilization. Islam is all about hatred and “triumphalism.” Only God knows what Obomba and his fanatical appointees are plotting against Christian America behind closed doors.

MILITARY.COM reported that US Pentagon officials declined to give specifics on conversations between DOD's Chuck Hagel and Egyptian Gen al-Sisi....WRT the current Egyptian crisis.

Although the officials would not discuss the specifics of the military-to-military talks, the U.S. would need Gen al-Sisi's approval to move through Egyptian air space if Washington decided to send Marines to aid in the evacuation of U.S. personnel.

READY TO GO About 550 Marines and their tilt-rotor MV-22 Osprey aircraft are at bases in Spain and Italy on standby if they are needed. A Navy Amphibious Ready Group with 4,000 Marines and sailors aboard, led by the helicopter assault ship Kearsarge, was also in the region following completion of the Eager Lion training exercises in Jordan.

AIN'T KARMA A *ITCH, HILLARY?...... the helicopter assault ship Kearsarge, IS in the region. We were lied to----we were told it was not available to help endangered Americans in Benghazi.

THIS IS OBABO ON EGYPT TODAY: As the savage Muslim Brotherhood burned down 63 Egyptian churches and paraded nuns through the streets to humiliate them, Obama took to the microphone from a golf course in exclusive Martha's Vineyard where he was vacationing, to clarify America's perspective. Here we reexamine his "inspiring" words:

"America cannot determine the future of Egypt. That's a task for the Egyptian people. We don't take sides with any particular party or political figure. I know it's tempting inside of Egypt to blame the United States or the West or some other outside actor for what's gone wrong."

Obama figured he was working his magic, sucking-up bigtime in a speech in Cairo----where he apologized for America's historical role in the Middle East. Obama calculatedly set the stage for the Egyptian president's overthrow by the mob.

When the worst-case scenario happened, when Obama's personal choice---Islamist Muslim Brotherhood, Mohamed Morsi, was elected president----Obama sap-happily sent his secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, to Cairo to personally kiss-up to Morsi---(perhaps at that time hatching their plans to destroy Westen civilization in compliance w/ Muslim Brotherhood dictates?).

Obama had calculatedly added a treacherous, ill-advised component to US foreign policy----sucking up to the very people who want to kill Americans and destroy American churches.

Obama was prostrate in obeisance before Muslim leaders---portraying teeming Muslim majorities in Egypt as "victims" of Western colonialism and Cold War policies, then stupidly promoted democracy among conflicting cultures w/ thousands of years of religious and territorial factionalism.

"The relationship between Islam and the West includes centuries of coexistence and cooperation, but also conflict and religious wars," Obama said in the June 2009 speech in Cairo. "More recently, tension has been fed by colonialism that denied rights and opportunities to many Muslims, and a Cold War in which Muslim-majority countries were too often treated as proxies, without regard to their own aspirations."

Fast forward to 2013: in the past 4-5 days, in a sustained volley of hate-fueled violence, the savage Muslim Brotherhood torched Egyptian churches, Christian homes and businesses. Obama ignored the bloodbath and spent the crisis dining out, golfing, power-partying, and vacationing in exclusive Martha’s Vineyard on the taxpayers' dime.

Its more likely that the Muslim Brotherhood was invited by that arrogant pos occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave and his administration.

Both need to be IMPEACHED

Read “Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex” by Larry Niven for speculation on the latter topic.

I used to love Ransom’s Sunday columns.

The comments were most of the fun but then screwed up their webpage. Too bad, so sad.

The reason why I did not post the entire article was because of the Bloomberg links. In case you are not aware Bloomberg articles can not be posted.

Townhall did not write the article.

I don't know what you are talking about Townhall screwed up their web page, I can read it just fine. Maybe it's on your side.

I just wonder if you have ever read John Ransom's Sunday column where he makes fun of the liberals. Originally he called these column Email-Hatemail

Obama plays his role in destabilizing the US, just as he has done in the Middle East.

I was unclear. I LOVED the old “hatemail/email” columns and the current version.

My complaint is townhall “improving” their already-crappy BBS software. The page changed twice in the past 6 or 7 months that is, the software, NOT the content.

Having trashed the “comments” they’ve thrown out half (more than half?) the fun of reading Ransom’s Sunday columns. (Besides, who in the world reads comments in REVERSE cronological order? That is just a weird default.)
