The UK Daily Mail has already reported that The three boys alleged to have gunned down an Australian baseball player out for a run because they were bored were influenced by an ultra-violent rapper. Specifically, rather than being part of any gang, which had been suggested before, authorities believe the boys were just wannabes who were emulating the thuggish beliefs of their idols, with Chief Keef being prime suspect. The Chicago Sun-Times posted a similar story.
It turns out that Kenan Kinard, the unapprehended suspect in the murder of 89 year-old World War II veteran Delbert Belton in Spokane, Washington, whose full name, according to the Associated Press, is Kenan D. Adams-Kinard, also identifies himself (screen grab for future reference) as a fan of Chief Keefs music
Violent rap/hip-hop music appears to have been a relevant influence in each murder.

Let's drop the “socio-economic-cultural-touchy-feely” excuses.
This kids are dangerous thugs and in order that they never hurt a person again and so we can serve justice, they should be hung outdoors, sitting on a horse as was done in the Wild West. Just a slap on the horses’ fanny and...no more criminal acts from these scum.
Having grown up during the era of hysteria over Heavy metal/Dungeons and Dragons and the PMRC/Tipper Gore, People from era probably have a different take on the rap thing.
We remember people freaking out over guys dresses in spiked leather who were going to break in your house, rape your daughters and wives and sacrifice your dog to Satan while reading an arcane passage drom that modern Necronomicon, the fabled “Dungeon Master’s Guide”.
And outside from one group of seriously psychotic Pagans in Norway, there was no rash of medieval death and carnage since it was all nothing more than entertainment. Fantasy.
With Rap culture, you have real world statements to do real world things. The misogyny, the drugs, the thrill killing with gins (not trebuchets and magic spell staffs) and a hundred other things.
Judas Priest didn’t make kids commit suicide. They never ranted endlessly about how you should do all the real world things Rap icons tell their adoring fans to do. Things that are actually possible in this reality, rather than hopping on your dragon and saving the princess.
Hell, I still have Iron Maiden T shirts. But I don’t think I’m a zombie with an axe.
But the Sainted Trayvons (Now THERE is a name for a metal band!) are a whole different thing. And their actions and beliefs are an actual religon complete with it’s goapel (the basic codes of the streets and prisons), it’s high priests (From Jay Z to Ice Cube to the new but no less worshipped like Kanye et all)...
And one overriding ethos. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.
Funny the people actually acting out Crowley’s mandate have nothing to do with Dungeons and Dragons....
And they were all such good boys!!!......

Well these guys are listening to heavily influential thug music which gives them plenty of suggestions to commit criminal acts. I’d say murder is pretty damn serious.
Alleged Okla. and Wash. Killers Have Common Thread: barack obama and/or eric holder.
Racist rap music has also been a major effect in black culture for 30 years now. It has explicitly racist lyrics calling for the murder of white people. These hate songs have been broadcast nationwide for two generations of black youth. Here are just some samples:
It is no wonder that black on white racially motivated violence is epidemic compared to the reverse.
I don’t understand a word of any Rap aboriginal grunting for I never took a language course in Ebonics.
However, I do know that they use the phrase “you know” during all interviews. However, I “don’t know” and they keep saying “you know” over and over again. How can I know since they think I can but I can’t and each time they say “you know” have to reply “no.” Then they ask again “you know” and I answer “hell no” and then they say “you know” again and I finally go crazy.
Smoking mirror excuse...they are just racists born and bred, we need to stop providing excuses, it is how we got into this mess.
Screw “violent rap”.
Isn’t it that they are ALL TAUGHT to “hate whitey”?
Correlation is not causation.
Here’s an idea for millions of bumper stickers that say, “Rap Is Crap”.
Then again, having one on your vehicle will probably get yourself killed. Probably not such a good idea after all.
And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear Mark 4:24If it is promoting evil, it is causation rather than mere correlation.
Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22
......From the Rapper Million $$ Bill....
Kill the Rapper, Kill him dead
Shoot the scoundrel in the head
Crush his throat with his gold chain
Watch the video of his pain.
Hate the bastard, the illigit
Mouthing nonsensense, verbal shit
The story here that we must tell
Let the sob rot in hell
But the problem, feral black youths and tremendous levels of violent crime, was there before the rap era began. Sure, rap doesn’t help, but I think it’s a symptom of the degenerate black culture than a cause.
If listening to rap music makes young persons violent, then why are the levels of violence among the millions of white kids who listen to gangster rap so low?
Where do you get your statistic from?
Rap is to America as Khomeni’s cassette tapes were to Iran.
Invisible to many, invaluable to the revolution.
There is absolutely no doubt that there’s a common thread among these thugs. Get real! If your mind is saturated with filth, violence and misogyny, then what do you expect. Of course, some people who listen to it don’t commit crime. But make no mistake, ultra-violent rap is a common thread. Out of curiosity I Googled the words “rapper killed” and I came up with 70,000,000 hits in 0.36 seconds.
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
Ever notice how there is an outbreak of this type crime at the same time? It isn’t an isolated case in one town, then another, it is all over the US.
Now what could be influencing the young thugs to do such things all over at the same time!
If you’re referring to the number of people killed by the Klan since the 1880’s (about 3000-4000), that’s been posted numerous times on this forum. The numbers of homicides committed by various ethnic groups is also available from the National Center For Health Statistics and other gov. sources. Blacks commit about 50% of all homicides which total around 15,000 in the U.S. Most murdered blacks are young, black males. That would make about 6-7000 young, black males murdered yearly. About 93-95% of black males are murdered by other ybms. That makes the yearly total close to double the total numbers of people, white and black, the Klan murdered since the 1800s. And the Klan also murdered about 1000 non-Black citizens.
Anyway, the news anchor, who was a young black man, actually acknowledged that there is an epidemic of violence and the perps are mostly young black men! I was amazed. He gave Simmons a few minutes to address it, and of course, he denied that rap was to blame, it was only a symptom, these were "artists" talking about what was in their "hearts." Even the news anchor was like "Do they have to say bitches and whores?" and Simmons repeated that he couldn't tell a "poet" what to say. But at least someone somewhere at CNN has caught the beginnings of a whiff of a clue.
But it didn't take long for them to veer off into "the youth are frustrated because they don't have good jobs," line, and I just shook my head and took my food and left.
***If youre referring to the number of people killed by the Klan since the 1880s (about 3000-4000),***
I have read that 5000 people were lynched by the KKK. The breakdown is this.
1500 white Republicans.
What you've you are two problems. One is that the media onslaught portrays very real violence. The other is that in our world of perpetual childhood, many reach adult hood without ever being able to distinguish fantasy from reality, thus their real world is an extension of the fantasy environment. I would think mind-altering meds play into this inability to make the distinction.
These are all my observations of the situation, not based on a study or anything like that.
No, I’m asking where the statistic about white kids that listen to violent rap music come from.
From various sources anywhere from 60-90% of rap music is purchased by white teens. The true number if probably somewhere in the middle.
I’ve always followed the philosophy that it really omes down to parenting and the concept of responsibility/action/consequenses.
I can respect that others are opposed to violent games as a whole. Personally I think they are little different from violent literature considered classics. Once in the mind, the imagination makes them equally ‘real’ so to speak. But no one is opposes to Shakespeare despite the sex, death and Machiavellian plotting.
One kid goes out, gets a copy of Grand Theft Auto, blows away half of Miami/NYC and then tries it out for real.
Another finishes GTA and heads down to Gamestop for the latest release of Battlefield.
The difference is that one never got taught right from wrong/actions have consequences/ fantasy and reality.
The same applies to Freddy Kruger, Jason or even the patheticness that was SAW.In fact millions upon millions of kids world wide never act out the violence of games or movies. Which leads to the above. Parenting.
Whether ‘allowing’ kids access is another thing entirely. I went by whatever my daughter was ready to deal with at any given level of development. For me and her at least, it worked out fine.
As with most things, parents who actually pay attention to their kids don’t often end up with psychos. Sure, there are exceptions. But almost invariably you have a kid there with a genuine mental issue that no amount of attention can overcome.
Yes that’s what I’m saying. “RAP’ is mostly about real world violence in one form or another and leads to real world violence in one form or another as opposes to the hype that satanists on dragons were going to burn your dog as a scarifice to the devil.
Rap directly results in these paychos with no supervision acting out the stuff they are fed and sold on the idea it is a good’ thing.
There are children who get there in spite of their parents and communities. In my (now former) adventures in inner school public school substituting, I encountered a lot of them They mature and become responsible in spite of, not because of, their surroundings.
Keep in mind the schools aren't teaching right vs wrong as much as they used to. Churches have less impact. And neighborhood institutions are getting closed in the fragile neighborhoods. It's getting worse, not better in many environments.
I’d be surprised to find a school that taught it at all. Everything being relative and each having his/her own truth seems to be all but universal now. And critical thinking (the lack of it’s teaching), also a casualty of liberal control of education is another part of the problem.
To be sure, some kids do develop that sense of R/W without parental involvement. And that’s exactly the type that could listen to the worst gangster rap, play the most violent of games and deal with it just fine.
As to your contention, I agree.
Some consider RAP a very modern, urban form of Art.
Is it music? Sort of.
Is it Art? Only for distorted minds.
Does it sooth the soul or stimulate emotion and thought?
It stirs waving arms, violence and hip thrusts.
Is it good for society? No, it contributes to violent crime and the abuse of women.
Can it be compared, say, to Disco, Rock & Roll, Jazz or even Classical music?
No. In 50 years, it will be remembered as a sick fad.
It is an angry form of expression, rooted in the boom-boom-boom drum beat and a dislocated youth, ready to tear everything down while building nothing.
RAP is CRAP.
