At least six people were shot overnight in Chicago, including an 11-year-old girl sitting on the front steps of her Northwest Side home, a 16-year-old boy shot on the West Side and three men shot in a single incident on the Near West Side.

The girl, who is about 11, was sitting on the steps of her home in the 2300 block of North Kostner Avenue in the Hermosa neighborhood with family members about 4 a.m. this morning when the shooter, possibly a woman, fired four or five times and struck the girl in the side, according to Grand Central District police Sgt. John Schuler.

The girl suffered a through-and-through wound to her side and was taken to Lurie Children's Hospital, said Schuler.

I have crawled out of bed at 4 am to catch a flight

But it is literally impossible for me to stay up that late “socializing”, I start to resent it about 10 pm

However, I do advise my adult kids that bad guys aren’t out early in the morning, maybe I need to revise that in light of the new drugs that let people go for days without sleeping....

There are times reenacting those block parties of the ‘70’s make sense. Like when hundreds of people died in Chicago 20 years ago without A/C and because they didn’t go outside or open windows at night for fear of crime...but last night was in the 50’s around here so I don’t think that was the reason either...

I found this comment on the internet and thought I would throw it out there:

Why are there so many crimes in hairy people countries? In China there are very few crimes.

There’s a subcultural problem

We constantly hear from the Corporate Media, academia and government about gangs and gang violence as if there are these maundering outsiders invading the peace and tranquility of the inner city, i.e. black neighborhoods.

This is BS, of course, to obfuscate the fact that these so-called gangs and gangstas are the vanguard of modern black culture, idolized and emulated, lauded and praised in music and song. These black gangs aren't really gangs in any "organized crime" sort of way. They are just a loose association of people that grew up in the same street or neighborhood.

What has community organizing actually accomplished in Chicago?

Yep, that is what caught my eye, as well. At age 11, she should be in bed at that hour unless she lives on a farm and has to feed the livestock. Lord only knows what sorts of scenes this child has witnessed among the idiot adults in her life.

She’s out of her ever-loving mind. The idea that Sandy Hook occurred because of right-wing culture is insane.

These products of black ghetto thug culture are acting in accordance with their culture, plain and simple. We see the same Leftist refusal to face up to reality with their inability to admit that Islamic terrorists are acting in accordance with Islam, and are not anomalous.

Do some YouTube searches on Denny’s fights and Chuck E. Cheese fights. The women folk feature prominently.

Perhaps, the fact that the Chinese gov’t murdered a couple hundred million of it’s citizens, has had a calming effect, on the current population. The prisoner organ transplants have also contributed, to a more compliant, yet somewhat- hairless society.

.....just trying to help you out here a little bit re where your daughter is. Having lived in this area of Central Texas for 65 years I was puzzled reading your post about your daughter being in Lackland, Texas since I never heard of such a “town”. Now, there is a Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio where all, or nearly all, basic training for the Air Force is done. I suspect that is what you meant. Below is the official list of Texas Cities. As you can see, there is no Lackland, Texas. Kudo’s though to you and your daughter for her service!!!!

La Feria
La Grange
La Grulla
La Joya
La Marque
La Porte
La Vernia
La Villa
La Ward
LaCoste
Lacy-Lakeview
Lago Vista
Lake Bridgeport

If I see the comment again I wlll ask him/her.

I would think that hair would be an early warning device for danger — especially the hair on the back of the neck.

Yes, Lakland AFB. It’s the size of a town, has the population of a town...close enough ;)

Nationwide, more people know where “Lackland, Texas” is than “Lago Vista, Texas”...

Well that is an entirely different story entirely. But I have see it argued here on FR by others that 19 YOs are children to be ruled as if they were 10.
