I think that’s great! But, I have to wonder how he keeps in top operating form while doing relatively few operations.
Didn’t you hear? He’s a crazy person.
Doing it is a “good thing”. (If your skills can be maintained despite doing few operations as the previous poster mentioned.)
However crowing about it in deliberate puff piece such as this - not so much.
When you’ve done thousands of procedures, it’s like riding a bicycle.
“Puff piece?” Read it again. This is not the first time he’s performed pro bono surgery. Whether you like them or not, the Paul family has record of public service.
Former congressman Greg Ganske from Iowa is a plastic surgeon. I know he would go on trips repairing cleft pallets and such for children during his tenure. Kind of a moderate politically but a class act behind the scenes.
If Rand Paul ever becomes President and continues to do this the Media will be calling him crazy whereas Obama can do jack squat and play a million games of golf and it’s “yawn” from the media...
Good for you, Doc! (though I could have gone either way on Sonny Bono...)
Let’s not forget playing spades.
OK, but who did the crowing... Paul or the patient whose sight he restored? People find this stuff interesting.. that politicians have other talents and skills beyond politics.
big deal. people just touch Obama’s cloak and the crippled walk again.
“Standing above her are Paul and another ophthalmologist, Barbara Bowers, both dressed in blue scrubs. “
WHOA!! WHOA!!! I really do need my eyes checked. I thought it said Barbara Boxer..ugh.
Big deal. Obama fixed the economy, repaired relations among the races, set us up with free universal healthcare, and settled all the wars and conflicts in the Middle East. Let’s Sen Paul perform THAT kind of work, all while shaving 7 points off his golf game.
Maybe Obama can organize a few race riots pro bono just to keep in practice.
No shortage of community agitators. Al and Jesse have that covered.
It’s what Dr. Doom does best.
And here in the lovely state of IL my illustrious senator dummy durbin, has the talent of makes even the dumbest look like savants! Such talent!
Isn’t this in theme with what we all desire, for the members of Congress who work for us, to have a life outside of DC?
