Tina Kitchel stirred awake in Spring Valley Hospital with a tube in her mouth and her arms riddled with needle marks from an IV.

Her husband stood at her bedside, relieved to see her awaken. She stared back at him like he was a stranger in a crowd. There was so much she didn’t know.

Nearly two weeks prior, she was in the third trimester of pregnancy — their second child. A complication stopped her heart for 27 minutes. Doctors performed an emergency cesarean section in the hallway of the hospital to rescue her child — and bring her back to life. She had been in a coma for the past 13 days.

In fairness, apparently her hoppocampus was destroyed by having her heart stop of 27 minutes. She literally can’t recall anything more than a few minutes -— same as alzheimer’s essentially.

IF being voluntarily fat is a disability (which it is, according to Obama’s ADA regs), this is certainly a disability.

1. My short term memory is bad

...Tina is one of 3,616 people in Clark County seeking Social Security disability payments. They’re competing for the attention of six administrative judges and they’re looking at 11 months of waiting.

3,616 people in Clark County (Nevada?) seeking benefits? How many people nationwide? 12 million or so checks go out last time I checked.

...$2,000 a month, a stipend for her children and medical insurance...

The Lord can provide for all of these people, and our Christian Bible promises He will, if they seek Him. But how will the Federal government provide for numbers like these?

Can she be retrained into another job? Possibly. With time.

I think hop-o-campus was the name of a college bar, but I really don't remember much of it.

Seriously, though, if part of her brain was destroyed because of medical problems then I can accept that as a legitimate disability. Running out of your 99 weeks of unemployment and then suddenly finding you have a previously undiagnosed back problem - not so much.
