[Black] Actor Harry Lennix calls ‘The Butler’ ‘historical porn’

lthough director Lee Daniels’ Oscar-baity film The Butler, which is based on the life of real life White House service-worker Eugene Allen, is receiving rave reviews — one black character actor is lashing out at the project.

Actor Harry Lennix, who most film buffs may recognize from his roles in The Matrix trilogy, Get On the Bus and most recently Man of Steel, has said the filmmaker of took Allen’s story and “ni**erfies” it and he has dismissed the project as “historical porn.”

“I read five pages of this thing and could not go any further. I tried to read more of it, and I’m not a soft spoken guy, but it was such an appalling mis-direction of history in terms of taking an actual guy who worked at the White House,” said Lennix in a July interview with Shadow and Act. But then he “ni**erfies” it. He “ni**ers” it up and he gives people these, stupid, luddite, antediluvian ideas about black people and their roles in the historical span in the White House and it becomes… well… historical porn. I refused.”(continued)

We can safely assume that Harry Lennix has already received calls informing him that 'you'll never work in this town again". The left and the race card dealers have no patience with plantation slaves trying to act 'uppity'.

Good for him. He was also very good in Julie Taymor’s “Titus.”

People have stopped going to see it after the first weekend... it will be on PPV and DVD in a few weeks.

I pray you’re right.
I wouldn’t spend one dime or my precious time to see it.

My wife drug me to see it, and all the way home I talked to her about the historical truth stretching all through it, particularly in regard to Presses Nixon and Reagan. In the end she came to my point of view....

Bravo. That's exactly what Lee did. He perverted the life of an actual person into his fantasy of history. He definitely gave the Reagans "stupid, luddite, antediluvian ideas about black people" that the Reagans did not hold.

By the way, I wonder if Colin Powell agrees with the portrayal of Ronald Reagan in “The Butler.” That certainly would be a more relevant question for him, as a black in the Reagan Administration, than his views on the Trayvon Martin case.

I’ve been following Nick Searcy on twitter and he’s ruthless about taking up the fight against the race baiters. I didn’t realize it but his adopted (now adult) son is black.

Actually, that idiotic NewsMax story was highly misleading. Even blockbuster movies routinely lose up to 50% of their income after the first week. This movie is down some 33%. In the industry, that is considered very good.

Yeah well if it were a biography of Reagan or perhaps George W Bush, what would they say about 33% drop in receipts? Never listen to people that you know lie... and hollywood lies about everything in and outside of their movies.

Absolutely right. Like black comedians, anytime a movie involving black people is made it's constant constant constant racial references. They couldn't even do interviews about this movies without bringing up race and racism 9 billion times, the worst being The most annoying woman in the world ™ Oprah Winfrey comparing Trayvon Martin to Emmett Till. Everything is race race race race with the left. How long is the BS going to go on? We got every race on earth in this country now, NONE of them bring up their race more than black leftists. Reminds me when I was in a bagel shop a few months ago, this black guy was on line in front of me and order a bagel and coffee with sugar. When he got the coffee he took a sip and noticed there was no sugar in it. And what did he say? "There's no sugar in this. I told you I want sugar. You are just doing this to me because you a racist mofo." lol lol

Yeah, wasn’t he the actor who played the inventor of the terminator cpu in the second terminator movie? I have seen him in many things and thought he’s a pretty good pick for the roles he’s played.

Okay, I recognize him. That guy is a good actor who makes whatever movie he’s in better just by being in it.
I remember him from ‘24’.

Thanks for a good dose of reality -- and math. The movie is still distressingly popular.

Actually 24 million does not a successful movie make. If it had not lost anything the numbers would be a mediocre movie!!! it will make money but not an exorbitant amount!!!

You’re thinking of Joe Morton. He did an excellent audio book rendering of ‘The Autobiography of Malcolm X’.
