Former Mont. teacher gets 30 days for student rape

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A former Billings Senior High School teacher who pleaded guilty to raping a 14-year-old student who later killed herself has been sentenced to 30 days in jail by a judge who said the victim was "older than her chronological age" and "as much in control of the situation" as the teacher.

District Judge G. Todd Baugh sentenced Stacey Dean Rambold to 15 years in prison for sexual intercourse without consent, with all but 31 days suspended. He gave Rambold credit for one day already served, The Billings Gazette reported.

The girl's mother repeatedly screamed, "You people suck!" and stormed out of the courtroom Monday.

Rambold, now 54, was charged in October 2008 with three counts of sexual intercourse without consent alleging that he had an ongoing sexual relationship with Cherice Morales, starting the previous year when she was 14.

Morales took her own life in February 2010 while the case was pending.

In July 2010, Rambold entered a three-year deferred prosecution agreement with prosecutors that said the charges would be dismissed if Rambold completed a sex offender treatment program and met other conditions, including having no contact with children. He also admitted to one rape charge.

The case was revived last December when prosecutors learned Rambold had been terminated from the sex offender treatment program.

This is the future of America. According to the left, there is nothing wrong with pedophilia. The young girl's life is also worthless, so her suicide is irrelevant.

Forget prison, if that were my daughter I would make this piece of crap BEG for life in prison!

It would seem that the judge had a few parties in his time.

The idiots on the left don’t see the progression from sorriness to perversion to torture to murder. They don’t see beyond their liberal fantasies to think that what they are encouraging is making the world we live in dangerous for their own children, wives and mothers and all their useless possessions. They are creating the evil that will destroy us and them as well. It is absolutely unbelievable how stupid they are.

I have come to the point where I simply look at these idiots, laugh at them and say, “You really are just stupid aren’t you?” Not ignorant, not misguided, not misinformed, not low information.... just STUPID. So stupid that survival of the fittest should prevail and exterminate them outright. We have artificially prolonged and allowed their miserable presence to long.

Now I know how the (freedom-loving) Germans felt in the 1930s, and the Russians under Lenin and Stalin, too, for that matter, watching their country head to a bad end, but apparently powerless to stop it...

"The judge's reasons are his reasons and his reasons alone. He has broad authority under state law, given the proper criteria," Twito said.

Mandatory minimums sentencing laws frequently cause injustices but cases like this make it hard to argue against them.

This is happening in Montana but I know counties in West Virginia where justice would be served on this low life by other means.

If this had been my Daughter, both the so called judge and teacher would be disappeared in due course. I’m sure there are plenty of abandoned mines that someone could be misplaced in.

Time for a new judge.

Time for a new country. More than one individual thought that the pedophile did no wrong.
