Have we reached consensus on voter-ID? At this afternoons rally in honor of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jrs I Have a Dream speech, former President Bill Clinton waggled his finger once again and zinged gun-rights activists, saying that voting should not be harder to do than buying an assault weapon. Since those purchases require a picture ID and usually a five-day waiting period, most gun-rights and voter-ID supporters would probably agree (video via Twitchy):
One Assault Weapon, One Vote.
Think I actually agree with the dress stainer on this one.
He wasn’t talking to us.
He was talking to the Low Information Voters who think you can buy firearms and ammo from vending machines.
Nope it should be harder. A vote has shown to do far more damage and kill more innocent people.
Psst..you need an id for an “assault” weapon......
Sounds good to me...
I agree. You should have a clean record, undergo a background check, and provide photo ID to vote.
Was he surrounded by his armed Secret Service detail when he said it?
Might be the cheesiest ‘zing’ I’ve ever heard since most conservatives would probably agree. Let’s do it! Background checks, can’t vote after committing a felony or have mental problems. The democrats wouldn’t win another election.
Hey if anyone knows about assaulting people, its Bill Clinton
Voting should be as easy as buying an assault weapon. In what state? New York? Or in what city, Chicago?
The low end voter probably buys their weapons from
the trunk of a car...
It already is, X-42, just ask Gabby Giffords husband.
William the Impeached touched an AK once, after the movie “Air Force One” came out.
He had to be reminded what it was: a banned weapon.
Little did he realize, his anatomy was about to be banned, too...
So... he needs to ask Eric Holder why he is suing Texas over the Voter ID Laws????????????
I didn’t know I could buy an assault rifle by walking into a store, plunking down the cash, and walking out... all while wearing a full gorilla suit and never showing an ID
because people voted just like that (minus the cash) in 2012
and yes, there’s video
Voting should be as easy as signing up for Little League.
“I Know All About Bill’s so-called “Assault Weapon!” Its a Air-Soft derringer.”
/fixed it.
so the fool is FOR showing an ID to vote???
I think that a class in Constitution Safety should be required before a person is allowed to vote.
Clinton, Filner, Weiner ...
It is, at least, for Democrats.
Even dead ones vote - twice!
He’s probably reffering to those semi/autos that look like assault weapons, his comments show he probably doesn’t know much about firearms or Voter ID.
I have always had to show ID when buying a weapon. Sometimes had a waiting period.
You have to present ID when you buy an assault weapon. And you get a background check. Clinton is just being a Democrat - dishonest.
LOL!
I see what you did on the the thread...lol.
99.
:)
You have to show ID IDIOT!!
Voting should be harder than taking advantage of a young intern and then demagoguing your way out of the mess by pretending to be the first “black president.”
Maybe it should be that you have to present
an aaaault rifle in order to vote?
why in tarnation did you do that?
Just scrolling down...and BAM!
Now I feel ill.
Does he mean "virtually impossible" in California and New York?
Well, I had to attend an all day class, and subject myself to finger printing and submitting references to get my gun permit in Mass. I had to present them with ID and proof of residency. I must present my firearms permit at any time to a LEO.
Sure, lets make everyone do that.
Clinton (pick which one) is a douche.
Thanks Hojczyk.
My mother is about 15 years Hillary’s senior and doesn’t look nearly that old. Of course, my mother doesn’t drink....
Knowing the Scum-Bag Character of Wee Willie,
Buying an assault weapon should be no easier than buying
Astro-Turf to put in the back of your El Camino.
As funny as it may sound, I wholeheartedly, enthusiastically and willfully endorse Former President Bill(Slick Willie) Clinton’s recommendation.
I want voting to be as easy as getting an assault weapon in California, New York, New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Washington DC., Colorado, Washington State, and all those other states that have legalized that term (assault weapons). I further want voting in other areas to be as ‘easy’ as it is for a felon in most any state to ‘get an assault rifle’.
Further, I want all those inner city voters to be able to vote as easy as getting an Assault Rifle and the NICS background checks and fingerprints that go with it.
I’m thinking that if we all adopt Slick’s recommendations, we could remove fully 1/3 of the Democrat voters from the overall fraud pool.
Yessir...sounds like a winner to me. Let’s do this thing!
Steps and timeline for buying an “assault” rifle:
1. find one you can afford: FA M-16 going for ~$20,000 or so & FA-AK47 for ~$15,000..those inflated prices only because the government keeps the supply artificially LOW.
2. go to FA dealer and fill out 3 pg form for BATF background check
3, get a set of FINGERPRINTS
4. get passport-style photographs
5. write $200 check for the Transfer Tax
send all the above in to BATFE and WAIT 6 months for FBI background check and maybe then you can take possession of yer assault rifle, after you pay the $20,000.
FU to Clinton, obama and any other Democrat who misrepresents this on purpose for their agenda.
Me too, I probably should have added he didn’t know much about the law and regulations applying to to the sale of firearms. As someone posted “clinton’s constituants buy theirs from the trunk of a car.”
That would be nice.
Slick’s statement should come as no surprise to any of us who pay attention.
After all, Slick is a LIEberal Democrat, and what LIEberal Democrats do best is LIE!
IMHO, registering to vote SHOULD be EXACTLY the same as buying a personal weapon! Picture ID, proof of identity, proof of legal residence, Federal paperwork, background check, waiting period, etc. etc.
Slick may accidentally be on to something! I wonder who will run with this idea?
I agree with you Mr. Sink Meister. Why? Because you need a photo ID AND a background check to buy an "assault weapon," whatever that means.
