As he prepares to run for the U.S. Senate, Newark, N.J., Mayor Cory Booker is having to answer questions about his sexuality, and according to Gawker, he isn't doing a very good job.
Presumably because he has mostly remained unattached throughout his time as mayor, with no publicly known wife prospects, whispers of Booker's sexuality have been swirling around him for years now. But with the high profile that would come with being a senator, the whispers may become yells for answers -- Gawker seems determined to start the rallying cry.
Newark Mayor and U.S. Senate hopeful Cory Booker is once again parrying questions about whether he likes dudes. Is he gay? Bisexual? Completely straight? (Asexual?) The only person who knows for sure -- Booker himself -- refused to specify twice yesterday, first in a Washington Post profile and, in a follow-up interview, to the New Jersey Star-Ledger.
And if it isn't the media pining for an answer, it's his fellow political compatriots and foes.
Still, Booker's default supporters in the Democratic establishment are not the only ones to notice their candidate's unwillingness to discuss his own sexuality, which Booker himself considers to be a pedestrian facet of existence. (It's a little difficult to play up the normalcy of gayness in the abstract when you refuse to discuss it in the specific.) Indeed, for the past year or so, his sexuality, and sex life, have become topics of immense attention among GOP opposition researchers -- the hired guns who dig up dirt on the opposing party's ticket.
A source familiar with a team of New Jersey opposition researchers working with state Republicans recently told Gawker that the team appointed a member to research the relationship between Booker and a particular male confidante.

Good for him. Don’t ask, don’t tell. Not my business, I don’t care and I certainly don’t want to be told.
I would think being gay would be a plus in politics these days.
If that’s true, then Jim McGreevey ought to be making a comeback right about now.
Fiddle-Dee-Dee! Who cares? We’re ALL gay today! I’m gay. My dog is gay. So is my cat! We’re all gay, gay, gay, gay, GAY 24/7!
If you aren't aware, have a look: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/357064/cory-bookers-imaginary-friend-eliana-Johnson
I’m sure he will show up in commercials with a wife and family doing family things. Cory Booker, good for families, good for America.
All the kewl peeps are post-sexual now.
Among Democrats especially. I figure homosexuality will be required of all Democratic politicians from now on.
Omnisexuality: that's where its at man!
Forget the rumors. When is he going to address the facts about his hilarious imaginary friend "T-Bone?"
Uh-oh! You're in big trouble with the Imaginary Friends Liberation Front now, FredZarguna! They've got their own parades now, their own signs and slogans and colors and bumper stickers, and their own faction in the Democratic [sic] party. As a matter of fact, President You Didn't Build That has some imaginary friends of his own, and isn't at all ashamed of them.
Just like Nero’s Rome.
Is that different from being married for 20, 30 or more years?
The new Reggie Love perhaps?
“...the love boat...exciting and new...”
Everything starts off OK, but then the marchers start yelling at each other for stepping on the toes of their imaginary friends.
It gets real ugly real quick.
he wants to be all things to all people just like obama who was black and who was white and who was married to a woman but was also rumored to be gay
But I'm more concerned by Barack's imaginary relatives. The uncle who liberated Auschwitz comes to mind, and of course he has Dreams From an Imaginary Father.
Because, as I've said before: "You can pick your imaginary friends, but you can't pick your imaginary relatives."
I could care less whether Cory Booker is gay or not!!! I care that Cory Booker is another failed Obamabot bigot across the board and will not serve NJ well at all!!! Best to think......before voting for this low life, shyster, flim/flam Obamabot clone!!! Vote for Steve Lonegan for United States Senator in the special election im mid October. He will be a great, honest representative for the people and state of New Jersey!!!
