Rand Paul on Syria: I can’t see sending my son to fight on the same side as al Qaeda
Washington Examiner ^ | August 30, 2013 | Charlie Spiering

Paul also explained that he had difficulty seeing any American interests in the Syrian conflict.

“I can’t see fighting to impose Sharia law in Syria,” Paul said. “I can’t see sending my son to fight with Islamic rebels against Christians. I also can’t see my son going to fight on the same side as al Qaeda.”

Under Sharia law, Paul noted, Christians would be persecuted for blasphemy, citing a woman in Pakistan who was jailed for blasphemy after she drank from a cup shared by Muslim workers.

“That is not something I want to send our boys and girls to die for,” Paul added.

"Our country! In her intercourse with foreign nations, may she always be in the right; but our country, right or wrong." - Stephen Decatur

My son is active duty Army. I do not relish him serving under the present leadership and especially do not relish the possibility of him having to serve in an area where there is no national interest at stake.

However, my son's faith has never been challenged by anyone at any level during his time in service, and he has certainly never been asked or ordered to endorse the homosexual lifestyle.

Your father served honorably in World War II and I thank him for that. Please do my son the same courtesy, as his sacrifice gives you the freedom to say the things you have said about the Army in which he proudly serves.

In the meantime, please think on Decatur's quote as posted above. We would always wish to be in the right. In the case of Syria, however, we are not, but those who have sworn to serve, as my son and the sons of your friends have done, have work to do.

“Why hasn’t Waldo Boehener had a press conference?”

Because Boehner answers only to NeoCons

The Rise of the Neoconservatives

Mises Daily: Friday, March 02, 2012 by David Gordon

Mises Academy: David Gordon teaches The Betrayal of the American Right and the Rise of the Neoconservatives

President Obama is without question a warmonger, but except for Ron Paul, his conservative Republican opponents attack him for not being enough of a warmonger. We need to start a new war now, they say. We must immediately destroy the Iranian “nuclear program,” though exactly why Iran poses a threat to the United States they don’t bother to explain. Iran is just one example: we also have to wage a worldwide crusade against “militant Islam.” In the Republican debates, Gingrich and Santorum told off Ron Paul. He doesn’t want to kill people on useless crusades. To them, this makes Dr. Paul unpatriotic.

Things weren’t always like this. In the years before World War II, American conservatives opposed global crusading. The Old Right opposed the New Deal and favored the traditional American policy of not getting involved in foreign wars....

Wishful thinking. The reality is many GOP members support this strike.
However, they do not want to go on record supporting it with a vote.

One would at least expect Waldo Boehner to at least take time away
from his drinking and tanning to conduct a press conference.

Where is Waldo Boehner?

"Pie in the sky to be sure, more than likely it's just our current congress being impotent as usual. We're in a real mess in this country."

Neo Cons rule Congress now.

Nice try Doodledog.
It does not pass the smell test.

What is preventing Waldo Boehner from conducting a press conference
and demanding a vote in the house. Where is your buddy Waldo Boehner?

There is no way I could suggest to any young person that they do as I did and go straight from high school graduation to boot camp in San Diego. I would as likely suggest to them that they should jump from a ledge and flap their arms. I know that is exactly what the left wants, to keep real patriots out of the armed forces but how could anyone encourage a young person to enlist now?

I'm sorry but I do not see how your son is giving me freedom of speech. The Lord gave me my freedoms.

Furthermore, "my country right or wrong" is not a righteous principle, and is often seen alongside "I was just following orders."

I fully realize that must offend you but that is my opinion; which your son is, in your opinion, somehow responsible for, so I trust you'll respect that.

I only pray he keeps it up. The hypocrisy is stunning in that EVERYTHING they falsely claimed about Iraq couldn’t apply better to the Syrian situation.
Way to “go it alone” B. Hussein!

The Spy and Surveillance State Expands

War Is The Health Of Politicians In Trouble

Posted on June 14, 2013 by Gary D. Barnett

Isn’t it convenient given all the scandals surrounding Obama that the White House is claiming that the Syrian government is using chemical weapons on its own people? That assertion is simply an excuse, a “crossing of the red line,” that will set the stage for more war.

More war will certainly take the political heat away from Obama as he prepares to slaughter more innocent people in the Middle East in the false name of protecting Syrians and Americans. In actuality, he would only be protecting himself and the entire war profiteering military industrial complex. Considering his neo-con credentials, the Republicans would be well served to appoint Obama president for life...

Russia sending warships to the Mediterranean: report
AFPAFP – Thu, Aug 29, 2013

Russia will “over the next few days” be sending an anti-submarine ship and a missile cruiser to the Mediterranean as the West prepares for possible strikes against Syria, the Interfax news agency said on Thursday.

“The well-known situation shaping up in the eastern Mediterranean called for certain corrections to the make-up of the naval forces,” a source in the Russian General Staff told Interfax.

“A large anti-submarine ship of the Northern Fleet will join them (the existing naval forces) over the next few days.

“Later it will be joined by the Moskva, a rocket cruiser of the Black Sea Fleet which is now wrapping up its tasks in the northern Atlantic and will soon begin a Transatlantic voyage towards the Strait of Gibraltar.”

Right. Doodledog says the constitution requires The President to call a
special session?

The constitution does not restrict Waldo Boehner from conducting a press
conference and demanding a vote in the house.

So where in the World is Waldo Boehner?
Is he drinking? Is he playing golf with Obama? Is he crying? Is he at a tanning salon. Americans want to know.

Because according to Article II only the president can call the Congress into special session.

... [The President] may, on extraordinary occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them ...

The word "only" is not there. The Speaker can call the House into session anytime.

Wait a minute! Maybe we're not giving Obama enough strategic credit here. Maybe the plan is to send in our troops to fight along side al queda, and at the opportune moment, send them all to Bin Laden!

Hey, I had to crack the stress barrier for a second. It's not good waking up and wondering before you even get out of bed, if Obama has started WWIII yet.:(

I don't think you are correct on that. Article I, Section IV, Clause 5 says that consent of both houses is needed to adjourn for more than three days. It should follow that consent of both would be needed to cut the adjournment short. Neither Boehner or Reid can do it on their own.

The speaker Waldo Boehner can also call a press conference to
demand a vote on a strike. The fact he as not do so tells you everything
you need to know about Waldo. He is in on it with Obama.

Where in the world is Waldo Boehner?

Agree. You know, don’t you, that pretty much anything you hear now from a GOPe regime ‘Republican’ is just panty-waisted “I need put a couple of worthless cents in here, too.”

ANY elected Congressional Republican worth a damn is home honorably answering to his constituents like a man (or a woman) with a real pair of balls (or similar lady parts).

The rest are off in locations undisclosed.

Senator Rand is correct. Obozo Liar and his Mulim Brotherhood Thug kitchen cabinet are pro al Qaeda if not al Qaida:

Al Qaeda linked groups, behind the Benghazi killings of Americans including our ambassador, train jihadists for Syrian rebel groups! http://freebeacon.com/u-s-al-qaeda-linked-group-behind-benghazi-attack-trains-jihadists-for-syrian-rebel-groups/

When Obozo Liar decides to attack the Syrian regime, he has ensured – for the very first time in history – that the United States will be on the same side as al-Qaeda or any enemy, who has killed thousands of innocent Americans on 9/11 or in the past.

Quite an alliance! The al Qaeda Islamic thugs/serial killers, who slaughtered thousands of innocent Americans on 9/11, will then be fighting alongside the very nation, whose innocents they so cruelly murdered almost exactly 12 years ago. The same killing thugs, who killed our ambassador and 3 others in Benghazi last September. He refused to send our military to help those Americans and allowed them to be slaughtered in Benghazi. Yet, he will use our military to fight against Syria’s enemies, al Qaeda.

What would have happen to FDR if he had ordered our Flying Tigers to attack the army of China instead of Japan’s air force and troops in China? The same evil Japanese military that killed our sailors and others on December 7, 1941. The same evil Japanese military which slaughtered millions of innocent Chinese with their cruel aerial bombings and on the ground military slaughter and rape of innocent Chinese.
