Obama proposes federal pay hike after 3-year freeze
The Washington Times ^ | August 30, 2013 | Dave Boyer

At the start of the Labor Day weekend, President Obama proposed Friday to raise the pay of civilian federal employees by 1 percent, which would end a three-year freeze on their wages.

The president also proposed to raise the monthly basic pay for military service members by 1 percent.

In a letter to congressional leaders, Mr. Obama said civilian federal employees “have already made significant sacrifices” due to the pay freeze. He said he is balancing that consideration with the reality that “we must maintain efforts to keep our nation on a sustainable fiscal course.”

Santa is early this year...the election isn’t until a year and three months away....isn’t bribery a crime?

If bribery was in fact a crime when the Rats are in the majority the federal prisons would be tent cities like sheriff Joe’s.

This is all part of his “we need to spend more money” plan when fighting the republicans over the spending bill.

Obama gets it. This is spread the wealth around.

Too bad liberal Mccain/Romney were too incompetent to defeat him.

They’re already compensated at something like 140% of the private sector equivalent, which to me means that they don’t need a raise for at least 20 years.

The military is another story. I’d give the regular enlisted types a 35% raise, but put all federal employees onto defined contribution retirement plans from here on out.

A feral government 50% pay cut?

Hmmm. How about 75%. We might as well get our money's worth, eh?

Did you vote for McCain and/or Romney to help defeat Obama?

At least you joined in with those of us who voted for them to get rid of bh0, rather than to be one of the 3 million who decided M & R weren’t conservative enough for them, so they stayed home and help keep bh0 in office. That’s And!

Mccain & Romney weren’t Conservative period.

I don’t blame those Conservatives for not voting for 2 liberals who didn’t bother to get the Conservative’s bases support. Mccain & Romney didn’t earn those votes so they lost them.

Isn’t it grand to be sure that the election was lost due to a lack of votes for the RINOs and that it had nothing to do with the obvious election fraud?

When there is a lack of turn out for the Republican candidates, it only magnifies the affect of election fraud by the democrats. 3 million more votes for McCain or Romney would have had a good chance to over come the voter fraud. One can’t sit back and say, “I won’t vote for a Rino” and then complain about the other side winning only because of voter fraud.

Screw “overcoming” voter fraud. That is part of the problem with the GOP. They're too cowardly and corrupt to do something about Liberal lawlessness. I want election fraud prosecuted and I want those caught in committing election fraud tried. If found guilty I want them executed. It's like horse thieves in the old west. You hang 5 horse thieves and you discourage 10 others.

I voted for Palin in 08 (and Traitor McCain by extension) and I voted for Ryan in 12 (and Socialist-lite Romney by extension).

Don't give me any of that crap about the problem being with the Conservatives. We've fought for our candidates in the primaries and most of us voted for the party's nominee in the general election. The GOP responded by undermining the Conservative candidate during the primaries and openly attacking them when they win the primaries (in some cases, helping the Democrat win!). Remember when Rove reacted when his chosen ones lost? And you're claiming we're not “team players?” Really?

Meanwhile, the GOP couldn't be bothered to address blatant election fraud after Bush took office. They completely ignored the fraud committed during the 2012 election (100+% voter turn out in many districts, extremely large districts in Pennsylvania having ZERO votes for Romney, etc). Hell, if they were even half as hard on the Democrats as they are on Conservatives they might even appear to have a pair of balls!

The problems do not rest with the conservatives so don't give me that crap.

Just to be sure you get it, I voted for the Republican candidate in the last two presidential elections...BUT, I will never vote RINO again because obviously THAT'S THROWING AWAY MY VOTE!

By its own actions, the GOP has cut off a large part of it's base. Many Conservatives are leaving (they may vote for a candidate like Cruz if he's got the GOP endorsement). A new party with conservative values would likely drain even more votes away from the GOP and claim a lot of the “Reagan Democrats.”

It's been ages since any party represented my views. Screw the GOP.
