Posted on 08/31/2013 4:44:17 AM PDT by Olog-hai
Students at a Kentucky high school were encouraged to step on an American flag that had been placed on the floor as part of an art display, outraging parents and students.
The display at McCracken County High School, was a re-creation of Dread Scott Tylers 1989 installation titled The Proper Way to Display an American Flag.
As part of the art exhibit, students were encouraged to stand on the flag and write their reflections on how they felt standing on the flag.
Local residents filled social networking sites with their outrage over the flag desecration with many calling for the art teacher to be fired.

Sounds like the “art” teacher is Amish & therefore entitled.
Illegal vigilante-ism comes in all flavors .... lately negro.
Sounds like she thinks public school is free and the fiumds come from thin air.
The local taxpayers had better wise up and realize they are her bosses
Why do people send their precious children to these schools ?
And this in a county only miles away from the MO bootheel, home of Rush Limbaugh. Used to work with a gal from Paducah. Red as they come, but that was in the mid 80s. It chills my blood to hear stories like this coming from out of flyover country.
Just teaching little Johnny to aspire to be the next Bill Ayers
When I was a 4th-grader (1988-ish), we made Easter baskets out of clay for our parents. On one side I painted the American flag. On the other, I painted a picture of a map of the U.S..
Somehow I wonder how many people would go to jail or be on a watch list if some kid did that today. let alone for just making Easter baskets in school!
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”
It chills my blood to hear stories like this coming from out of flyover country....
Eventually, all socialist-entitlement programs degenerate into pure evil. That **is** what government schooling is. Our government schools are a single-payer, GODLESS, socialist-entitlment. Only evil for all of society can be spawned from that.
Nearly all of our nation’s teachers, both private and government schools, were trained by Marxists in Marxist run colleges and universities. Ar they all flaming communists? No! Of course not, but their Marxist training does leak through into the classroom.
The word, Easter, is now forbidden and considered an obscenity.
I am reminded of “Brave New World” where the word, mother, was considered to socially unacceptable to utter.
Where’s Rick Monday when you need him?
Liar...you 'apologized' because you got caught. YOUR flag has a hammer and sickle on it...
That is how you handle liberals...she belongs with her own kind in New England or the region along the west coast...

Shand and her husband. She (Shand) owns "S&M Studios" in Paducah.
Probably thinks of herself as "edgy".
If that’s “education,” I’d sure hate to run into anti-Americanism.
So we pay these people to teach hatred for the USA?
These LIB freaks need run out of town. How disgusting! It is child abuse via forced schooling. He letter of apology is complete BS.
What is fiumds?

My bad, using my phone with a mind of its own
Well, there’s New England and there’s New England.
Our home-schooled daughter just spent nine days at a Civil Air Patrol (AF Auxiliary)encampment in western Maine where she learned invaluable lessons about military discipline, esprit de corps, and flag etiquette, among many other things. It was a fantastic experience for her. She flew an airplane, marched in formation in the hot sun and rappelled down a 57’ tower.
All at twelve and a half years old.
It’s up to parents to be aware of what their kids are being taught. Being a parent is hard. You have to take the initiative and make sure that they are getting the right experiences. Sometimes it requires a good deal of time and trouble.
There truly is no free lunch. Especially in public school. Turn your kids over to that grinding wheel for six hours a day, 180 days a year and in short order the enemy is in your house eating out your substance.
I simply don’t have a whole lot of sympathy for these parents. They must have been asleep for the last twenty years.
What a great post!
