In a sense I have been there, done that. I went through the public school social studies drill when the UN was presented as the best thing since sliced bread. Nothing about how kooks could and did completely pull it out of kilter, of course. (At that time, IIRC, Che Guevara had already hooted his insanity into the UN several times.) There was just some blind faith that somehow, a democracy spread across the world will fix things just because people are that way.

I am familiar with this girl and her mother locally - the only goal for them is to make a mockery of North Carolina's Republican leaders, and to turn our state blue again. Call me provincial, but I think civil rights should all be treated equally.

I.E. If you want to vote, or shoot off your mouth, you should have to do the same thing I have to do, when I wish to purchase a firearm:

1: Show a photo ID.

2: Undergo a federal background check (NCIS).

3: Fill out, and sign, a Federal form, stating that you are not a felon, fugitive from justice, an illegal alien, etc., etc., etc., etc., under penalty of perjury.  (Like the ATF 4473 form.)

It is not political, but it will teach them what is important and to understand the basic sin nature of man - and therefore train them to be less susceptible to all of these socialist nirvana schemes. Also, it should steer them away from false idols such as the Government and 'Messiah-like' figures that the Media tries to foist on us. They should also see that the Media works for Satan.
