Eleanor Bumpurs (August 22, 1918 - October 29, 1984) was an African-American woman who was shot on October 29, 1984 by police enforcing a city ordered eviction from her apartment in the Bronx. In requesting NYPD assistance, housing authority workers told police that Bumpurs was emotionally disturbed, had threatened to throw boiling lye, and was using a knife to resist eviction. When Bumpurs refused to open the door, police broke in. In the struggle to subdue her, one officer shot Bumpurs twice with a 12-gauge shotgun.
FR uses a basic subset of standard HTML. This is in contrast to other forum packages, which use their own invented notation for what they support. See the HTML Sandbox.
Note that FR does not allow styling or JavaScript. That means that, for example, <span style="background:yellow">simulate yellow high-lighter</span> does not work. FR filters out the style attribute, eliminating the highlighting effect.
To see how a post was posted, in Firefox, you can select an area of interest, then right-click and choose View Selection Source. That will show you the HTML that created what you are seeing. Also, in both Firefox and Chrome, you can right-click an element of the page and choose Inspect Element. That will bring up a window showing the page content organized into a tree that you can expand and contract.
