Syria hailed an "historic American retreat" on Sunday, mockingly accusing President Barack Obama of hesitation and confusion after he delayed a military strike to consult Congress.
"Obama announced yesterday, directly or through implication, the beginning of the historic American retreat," Syria's official al-Thawra newspaper said in a front-page editorial.
Syria's deputy foreign minister Faisal Mekdad accused Obama of indecision. "It is clear there was a sense of hesitation and disappointment in what was said by President Barack Obama yesterday. And it is also clear there was a sense of confusion as well," he told reporters in Damascus.

It’s coming to our senses the way our founding fathers envisaged. Only a formal declaration of war will unite the nation in this effort. This is necessary.

So true. Is Obama after a stalemate between Syrian forces, Assad and the rebels, in order to attain a negotiated settlement, as was suggested
by one the Sunday panels? It is confusing that it’s debilitating for the US and Obama, for sure.

Don’t count on it. Lindsey and McCain are running around beating the war drums. The GOP is not that smart.
Beyond that, and most importantly, we have no business interfering in Syria. The rebels are worse than the regime. They would use us today to gain power and harm us tomorrow because that is their nature.
Obama doesn’t care if the world respects American power. As long as he can kick our ass when the time comes.

Honestly, I think what may lead to Obama taking unilateral action without the Congressional approval will NOT be the use of chemical weapons, but the taunts of Assad’s brat. I think Obama is really that petty.
This is just more of the peace and love Obama promised us from other nations, as they realized how much more respect we had for them, post Hawk George Bush.
Obama is an utter fool, and those who voted for him are even bigger fools.

Obama handlers should have keep OBL “alive and living in Syria”. It would have made this “war” so much easier.
But getting OBL was the trump card that took Obama’s forged birth certificate off the front pages.

I think the hero in Syria is 11 year old Hafez. He clearly rattled Obama so much that he had to call for Congressional backup.
