John Kerry: US has proof that sarin gas used in Syria
Daily Telegraph ^ | 1 September, 2013 | Harriet Alexander, and agencies

Posted on 09/01/2013 11:02:08 AM PDT by ScaniaBoy

John Kerry, the American secretary of state, has said that the United States now has evidence of sarin gas use in Syria and said "the case gets stronger by the day" for a military attack.

President Bashar al-Assad, he said, "has now joined the list of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein" in deploying chemical weapons against his population.

A day after President Barack Obama stepped back from his threat to launch an attack, Mr Kerry said in a series of interviews on the Sunday news shows that the administration had learnt of the sarin use within the past 24 hours through samples of hair and blood. The samples were provided to Washington by activists in Damascus, independently of the UN investigation.

Mr Kerry also said he was confident that Congress will give Mr Obama its backing for an attack against Syria, but he also said the president has authority to act on his own if Congress doesn't give its approval. While Mr Kerry stopped short of saying Mr Obama was committed to such a course even if politicians refuse to authorise force, he did tell ABC's This Week that "we are not going to lose this vote."

Congress is scheduled to return from a summer break on Sept. 9.

We disagree on most of these points but especially on how the war was being fought. If you believe the American military was all in to win you are sadly mistaken. It wasn’t their fault, though. It was the fault of those in charge of the military. They did not have the balls to go all in.

Unless you believe it was easier to win WWII then win in Vietnam.

During the Winter Soldier hearings, Kerry said he HAD PARTICIPATED IN WAR CRIMES. Why didn’t the US military ever pursue charges against him? No investigation, no nothing.

We all know he’s a lying POS, but charges should have been brought against this lying traitor SOB.

We were winning up until the communists, both foreign and domestic, began waging the propaganda war.

It was the fault of those in charge of the military. They did not have the balls to go all in.

Oh, you mean like RATs LBJ, and his tearful butt-boy Robert McNamara?

We disagree on most of these points

Oh, so you liked Uncle Walter and Dan "fake but accurate" Rather, and all the other RATagandist scum.

You really believe we have a "free press".

I have a bridge for sale in Florida.

Don’t muddy the waters while you are agreeing with me. Yes, the Dems didn’t go all in. We agree, even though you are having problems saying that.

Yes, we have a free press. We just don’t agree with most of their political beliefs.

If you think there is another country with a more independent press, please name it.

All of the media is being bought up by large corps, though, so freedom of the press is on the wane. This applies to orgs as different as MSNBC and Fox.

The Internet is the overall worst place to get reliable news coverage. Some of it is outstanding. Most of it is partisan bullsh@t, no matter the agenda.

Yes, we have a free press. We just don’t agree with most of their political beliefs.

Bought and paid for by somebody, given marching orders by the DNC via the NY Times. Occasionally the truth slips through.

If you think there is another country with a more independent press, please name it.

Russia, Britain, Australia. Many of them feel perfectly free to report on and criticize US positions and public figures.

The Internet is the overall worst place to get reliable news coverage. Some of it is outstanding. Most of it is partisan bullsh@t, no matter the agenda.

Right, don't believe your own lyin' eyes. A lot of it is live reporting "tweeted" from individuals around the world, including video. No filtering.

Partisan or not, you should be able to get both sides of an issue and figure out the truth.

Not one of the established US news networks is worth watching, nor any of the papers, except to get local news. Local TV news reports little political news, and drifts into national and world "news stories". Even The Weather Channel is up to their @$$ in the Global Warming Hoax, reporting it as fact.

They self identify as liberals, and hope to "change the world" (though propaganda) The blatant disregard of their failing ratings and advertising revenue, in favor of their higher calling of promoting the "progressive agenda" should be all the proof you need.

I find it to be absolutely astounding that any adult believes that there is greater freedom of the press in Russia than in America.

If you truly believe that you might want to live in Russia for a while.

I have been there on business a few times and can say without hesitation that you have no clue what you are talking about.

I haven't been keeping up with Kerry's antics but perhaps someone who has can answer this for me.......

Has Kerry provided evidence that America or Americans are in imminent danger as a result of what is happening in Syria?

I'm betting the topic hasn't come up.

Of course not, but I guess you knew. Anyway, the latest is that an attack on Syria is not war - and absolutely not a repeat of Afghanistan or Iraq - but a declaration of our (the US’s) values.

This says congressman and whoremonger Bob Menendez (D-NJ).

Right....because that pesky Constitution says we get to bomb another Country if they don't share our 'values'.

Perhaps we need to mail every member of the House a Staples-style red 'reset' button. Then again, they'll just use it as a paperweight for their thousand-plus page, pork filled bills.

More truth about US news comes out of Pravda than the RATagandist American press.

It’s a total waste of paper or airtime.

I’m pretty sure the Russians are free to report any stories about the US with no interference from top leadership.

And yeah, it’s a pretty sad state of affairs to have to say that.

What are you, some kind of reporter?

I just realized that you don’t know what freedom of the press even means. Amazing that an adult living in America does not understand the concept, but considering the ideas crashing around in some brains I shouldn’t be surprised, I suppose.

I will help you out.

You lose freedom of the press when the government controls the media. While I despise the FCC and see no reason for its existence, its power to prevent the dissemination of news about America in America is next to nothing.

You write of Pravda as a shining example of freedom of the press, seeming not to understand that this is not a discussion about one country telling truth about another country but about the country it operates in. You really don’t understand that?
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_the_press
Look at the chart in the above to get a better grasp of the concept so you can discuss it intelligently with others.

I just realized that you don’t know what freedom of the press even means.

Of course I do, don't be insulting.

Amazing that an adult living in America does not understand the concept, but considering the ideas crashing around in some brains I shouldn’t be surprised, I suppose.

Again, don't be insulting.

I will help you out.

You are the one that doesn't get it.

You lose freedom of the press when the government controls the media.

No kidding.

While I despise the FCC and see no reason for its existence, its power to prevent the dissemination of news about America in America is next to nothing.

The FCC!!!??? Fogettabout that....

What about the well detailed and obvious multiple FAMILY connections between major news organization executives and key top figures in the White House. Not to mention the likes of Chris Matthews, Stepinawfulpis etc...RAT political hacks all.

You write of Pravda as a shining example of freedom of the press...

I don't know about that, but they blow the doors off our RATagandists when it comes to coverage of stories embarrassing to the progressive criminals currently occupying Washington.

seeming not to understand that this is not a discussion about one country telling truth about another country but about the country it operates in.

Says who? This thread is about:

John Kerry: US has proof that sarin gas used in Syria

You really don’t understand that?

Not only do I understand it, I don't care.

It's a petty niggling point about a former cherished concept that no longer exists in the US....Freedom of the Press AND Freedom of Speech....not to mention Freedom of Religion....ALL guaranteed in the First Amendment.

Pravda and other unlikely foreign news outlets serve us far better than the censored and willing progressive US "media" who berate, mock, demonize and otherwise do anything in their power to delegitimize Republicans (except RINOs) conservative individuals (Teabaggers) people of faith, businesses, industries and the entire concept of American exceptionalism.

Any "free press" that does happen to bleed through with some semblence of fact to it is either completely ignored bu the RATagandists, or given the above treatment as fauxnews or basically called liars.

This in stark contrast to your god Dan "fake but accurate" Rather et al and the daily output of bilge designed to totally mislead the American people, and protect the Messiah in the White House.

Yes, the communists have absolutely taken over our "free press" but it certainly isn't Russia or Pravda doing it. Don't worry about my ability to discuss it intelligently with others, the "free press" is dead!

The lamestream media, fascist press has co-opted their offices, have zero credibility with other than low-information voters and are quickly losing ground, credibility and operating revenue.

They can't GO TO HELL fast enough!

You wrote a lot of words but still don’t understand what freedom of the press means.

Name any media outlets benied denied access to express their ideas.

Chris Matthews works for the government because he is a lib? All of Fox is working for Obama?

How can I not be insulting to pure nonsense.

Don't tell me what I don't understand. We simply don't have it at this time.

Which of these things do the RATs not control?

Virtually all departments of government; federal, state, and local (unions) and especially the IRS.

Virtually all public schools, colleges and universities (unions and 60s radical professors) including schools of "journalism"

Virtually all of entertainment.

Virtually every city.

The Federal executive branch and the Senate, and a good percentage of the House including RINOs.

These "reporters" don't have to be coerced, bribed, or even asked what to bias, cover or ignore. As can be seen from the co-opted institutions above, they've been trained from childhood exactly how to be good soldiers for the cause....progressive socialism.

Yeah right, we have a free press....when Republicans accidentally win an election.

Again you blather on saying there is no freedom of the press and go on to prove your assertion by discussing everything but freedom of the press.

What does control of unions have to do with the topic?

For the third time, can you cite one example of suppression of a free press?

If not, continue to chatter on. Maybe the fact that the Patriots keep winning their division is proof there is no free press, or because Twinkies were dropped as a product, or because there are lizards in Florida, or because frozen water is colder than boiling water.

Anyone who believes there is more freedom of the press in Russia than in America is a few cards short of a deck.

I hate the way our government operates but that doesn’t mean that round is squre and square is round. Get a grip and focus on the real problems we all face instead of living in a frothing delusion.

Unions run the government.

For the third time, can you cite one example of suppression of a free press?

Death threats to Hannity, Beck....Brietbart dead. White House asking news organizations to spike stories.

The "coincidental" blood or marriage relationships between top Executive Branch members and top members of the press.

Get a grip and focus on the real problems we all face instead of living in a frothing delusion.

Why do you think this website exists...because we believe your freakin "free press"?

Now you answer a question.

You're a RATagandist aren't you?

We are in complete agreement that our govt is incredibly corrupt.

Yes, there have been death threats on conservative voices, but there are death threats on liberal voices. Is it your contention that a liberal govt wants to suppress a liberal media? Are you saying that the govt is making death threats against Hannitty? Don’t you understand that these threats help rather than hinder his ratings?

You can call me whatever you like but I stand by my statement that freedom of the press here dwarves its counterpart in Russia. This is indisputable to anyone with a brain.

Since you think that logic makes you a Rat, I will throw out the theory that you wish to make a supposed conservative to appear to be a loon in order to discredit conservatism.

See, it’s easy to make things up on the Internet.

The prez is a criminal. Congress is awash in criminals, but rather than focus on this you have concocted nonsensical notions that Russia has more freedoms than us. Amazing stuff.

No, liberal govt...liberal press...they're the same thing. They're lying about death threats to demonize conservatives. RATs lie about everything.

Are you saying that the govt is making death threats against Hannitty?

Are you saying that they aren't? It's probably the Purple People Beaters.

I stand by my statement that freedom of the press here dwarves its counterpart in Russia.

Yeah, too bad hardly anyone here is utilizing that freedom to criticize Obama. We get way more truth out of Russian news than out of our own so-called media.

you have concocted nonsensical notions that Russia has more freedoms than us.

Well they certainly blow our doors off when it comes to Economic Freedom, with their flat tax, versus our "progressive" income tax, PLUS out Highest Corporate Tax IN THE WORLD!

This WAS America.

Since you believe that Russia beats us hands-down on freedom of the press and quality of life, why not move there?

I have been there. You have not. After a couple weeks there you would do anything to return.

Are you sure you’re not a random word generator? Check the manual.
