What was his answer?(And a big thank you to those who asked the question)

His answer was "To what end?"

He points out correctly that it would take an enormous amount of time and effort to pass it in the house, only to fail in the Senate. In the meantime, the energy they are putting in to fight every other issue would be put aside. (paraphrasing here)

Here's what the Congressman needs to know: Character is about doing what is right. . .not doing something based upon a prediction of results.

The Congressman did nothing but make Boehner-like excuses. ."we can't get er done". . "Wahhhh. .Waaaahhhh". . What a bunch of wusses!! If this guy had been faced with the decision whether or not to sign the Declaration of Independence, I'm sure he would have been peeing in his pants over George III and his big army. . thank God there were real men in 1776!

I say fire the wuss and replace him, on the spot, with that young man asking the question.

We already have enough laws. What else does CONgress have to do other than start the proceedings? Let the Senate fail to impeach after all the “phony” scandals are publicly discussed. Hell, worst case scenario is the House stops spending money for a while as they work on this.

Fighting what issues? All we have is hearings with no actions. Or caving on issues and Boner making deals and a lot of golf playing. What issues have been fought that Obummer didn’t get what he wanted? All I see is excuses.

What is his position on the Sen. Lee approach to defunding Obamacare with the CR?

I emailed that question last week (he’s my Rep.) and I received a fairly long email reply identifying several aspects of his anti-ACA position, but he never explicitly answered the question.

At the risk of being tagged with a most unfortunate label, I believe the most obvious answer is because it would most probably launch an instant Race War in the USA.

With very, very few exceptions most blacks I knew personally enough to get a straight answer from when I asked them why they voted for obama simply answered bluntly " 'Cause he black." It did not matter that he was only partially of african descent, it only mattered that he had a very good chance to achieve the office with the best ancestral credentials and political positions that appealed to most blacks.

OJ simpson was ruled not guilty of murder. Blacks throughout the nation were hysterical with joy. Non-blacks were stunned at the verdict. And the likely possibility of blacks rioting in every major city was averted for the moment.

Aaron hernandez is being charged with at least one count of murder, but in his case he might actually have a valid verdict come down in his case because Hispanics are not known for rioting, at least to any large extent, when a hispanic goes to prison. I will leave others to speculate as to why that is.

Most understand that (o)bam-a will sail through both of his current terms and most probably more afterwards with no one daring to threaten him, partly because he is a chicago thug in truth and plays by their "rules", partly because he can, like b.Clint(o)n did, use every agency in existance to go after anyone that annoys him, and finally because when you get past everything else...

"He black."

His answer was "To what end?"

Since he asked a question back, the answer is:

To what end?

To tie the Kenyan Marxist packer up in knots, inundating him with millions of pages of subpoenas, weeks of damaging testimony from tons of unexpected witnesses, causing hundreds of sleepless nights and an unavoidable flood of news stories to be covered by the foreign press who hate him.

Thus slowing his ability to wage war on the American People.

Next question Congressman?

For the DemocRATs, this was a strong motivation to put him in the Oval office. "Race War' is a wonderful threat for them to use. The DemocRATs have cowed the opposition from doing their duty and prosecuting them all like the riff raff criminal gangsters they truly are.

We are going to have this fight over him sooner or later. Better now than later.

To: Nachum; All

The problem concerning impeachment is that conseratives, including myself, thought that trying to regain conservative control of the Oval Office in 2012 was the main mission for that election cycle, totally naive that Obama’s gangster supporters would stuff ballot boxes to reelect Obama.

Consequently, we overlooked trying to win control of both Houses of Congress. So whether we like it or not, Congressman Burgess has a valid point concerning wasting a bunch of time trying to impeach Obama since a divided Congress is not going to do the job right anyway. It would just be Bill Clinton all over again.

This is why I’ve been ranting that if conservatives and former Obama supporters can learn from our mistakes and win majority control of both Houses of Congress in 2014 then Obama can be impeached and removed from office.

And note that if conservatives can win 2/3 majority control of both Houses of Congress in the 2014 or 2016 election cycles, then conservative Congress will have the power, under the Constitution’s Clause 2 of Section 7 of Article I, to override presidential vetoes and essentially run the country no matter who is president.

I hate Obama but am unaware of any impeachable offense that could come close to being proved.

One could argue that it is still worth pursuing anyway, but then I would ask what is it that would be gained and lost.

Hell, Clinton GOT impeached and it accomplished nothing, other than serving as a diversion from things Clinton was doing wrong and sucking more money and time from the public coffers.

I want congressmen and women who accomplish something. Then again, since this absolutely never happens anyway, what is the difference what these criminals on both sides of the aisle are up to?

Being In Congress must have been something worthwhile at one time, but now they all get elected to assuage their enormous egos and to get rich while supposedly acting as our public servants.

You make one of the points I referred to quite well. I have no doubt that someone very soon is going to launch an effort to have him in the office for at least one more term, and if you disagree of course you are a "R*****"! And no, I do not mean "Rebel".

Even if he does somehow eventually surrender the office he will likely run again somewhere else for any political office he chooses. With the threat of that label being applied to anyone who dares oppose him in anything, the chance for more free paychecks with little effort and golfing everyday instead of every other week seems like an opportunity he can not rufuse.

And yes, I got that there are clueless individuals that are not aware that there is a two-term limit currently for the office. You just know however that if he tries to run again and get another term they will simply shrug their shoulders when you point it out and simply think it No Big Deal.

It’s a good answer that many on FR wont be happy to hear...

Calling for impeachment is also the intellectually lazy approach, as if just voting to impeach the Marxist buzzard would accomplish anything...it wouldn’t without an equally supportive Senate. Getting rid of him is hard work, requiring a studious effort. The groundwork must first be laid. The mindset of the population has to be redirected toward solving their immediate problems such as under-employment, rising costs of gas, food, etc. Until the populace connects those failures to the ineptitude of one Barack H. Obama there wont be support for impeachment in either House or Senate.

That’s not to say I don’t support the ‘overpasses for impeachment’ efforts. I think any effort to spark a thought in the otherwise occupied low to no information populace is great. It is just that too many Americans are too comfortable in their unemployment compensation, disability, retirement and any other support to actually give a damn.

So a different tack must be taken. If any of you have a suggestion I’d like to hear it.

It is a bad answer. The test of whether Obama should be impeached or not should be based on his actions, not on whether it will be successful or not. Obama swore to uphold and enforce the laws of the land. He has not with the backdoor amnesty of over 400,000 Dreamers and the unilateral decision not to enforce the employer mandate under Obamacare for one year at least being just a few expamples. Obama is selectively enforcing the law and making up new ones. It is tyranny.

If Congress and the Reps in particular allow him to do this without opposition, it just emboldens him to do more. If the House can call for the repeal of Obamacare 40 times knowing full well it will never get passed in the Senate or signed by Obama, why are they doing that? Burgess gave a crap answer that smells of defeatism. You either stand up for principles and adhere to the Constitution or you are part of the problem.

A point that was not yet made is that if the articles of impeachment were submitted and there was a tidal wave of support from the populace, it would have tremendous impact, even if it does not pass in the Senate.

I hate Obama but am unaware of any impeachable offense that could come close to being proved.

I don't think I agree with that. It is only an opinion, but I think that a number of scandals do rise to the level of 'impeachable offense'. It is certainly easy to document the pay-for-play that was going on in a great deal of the stimulus funding. It is also public knowledge that IRS officials directly attributable to the targeting of the opposition were coming to the White House repeatedly. The undocumented meetings outside the White House in Washington D.C. restaurants along with the early denial and then obfuscation of the public record is impeachable.

It is really not too hard to find a great deal of the violation of law in this administration. We have documented the lies in the Gunwalker scandal that lead to the White House. We have documented the Green Energy scams and that they were run from the White House. Then there is the illegal phone, internet, and email accounts by numerous White House officials that are and were illegal. The cozy relationship of Obama and Eric Whitaker. The Airport Scanner scam that was a pay-for-play run from the White House. The Michelle lunchroom program and the unionization of school lunchrooms across the nation.

The list goes on, but there is certainly so much impropriety here that if there was any impartial reflection by a fair minded Congress and Senate, he would be out on his ear. Nixon could have been impeached with out a clear connection to his own guilt. Clinton was impeached with only his lies about sex. Obama has done far worse.

"Politics is the art of the possible."

Everything you list has more than its share of supporters in this country, with more than a few of them being not only in power currently, but also helping shape opinions in the media.

The House would just spin its wheels endlessly with this, only to have it fail in the Senate. Meanwhile, Obama can look like the victim while ramming his agenda through by executive fiat anyway--only this time, NO ONE is paying attention b/c all news stories are about evil, racist Republicans trying to impeach the first black president.

It's pointless to pursue unless there's something truly concrete to get behind. So far there is not.

The most immediate and effective effort would be to cut off the funding for Obamacare. No impeachment required; no need to convince anyone in the Senate. If that doesn’t work then the House cuts-off the operating budget for the White House.
Contingent, of course on the whether Speaker Boehner has has had his dosage of ANDRO 400. The solution to this problem is for each of us boys to order him a supply so that he feels frisky and virile and powerful once again. (assuming he was ever frisky, virile, and powerful) That might be the easiest solution.

I, too , would love to see the bastard impeached, but even at this stage of malfeasance, no dem will vote to remove a black president. So, if by pushing it, do we re-energize those beginning to fall away from Obie ? Do we give 'em reason to stiffen their resolve ?

Given the obvious outcome, at this stage , I'd not impeach either.

When you speak to somebody at his office, please let him know that one very important thing would come of an impeachment proceeding even if the Senate never convicts: discovery. Subpoenas for evidence, testimony, and cross-examination. We the people deserve answers - even if it’s just to show us that we have a criminal, foreign enemy combatant in our White House and the political system is so criminal and corrupt that it will cover for him when he wages war AGAINST the US.

The media has been threatened; they will not report evidence. But we the people deserve to have the evidence rooted out and put in front of us - and federal subpoenas are the only way it’s ever gonna happen.

Obama should be impeached for a laundry list of things - all the things that the people deserve to get an answer to, and that includes at the very least Fast & Furious, Benghazi, Extortion 17, the threats to the media if they reported Obama’s eligibility problem, the deaths of Andrew Breitbart and Michael Hastings, the deportation of the Saudi “person of interest” caught at the Boston marathon finish line, the IRS targeting of conservatives, the approval of Malik Obama’s tax exemption for Hamas fundraising, the payment of 8 billion to Morsi to kill innocent Egyptians so Hamas could take over portions of Egypt close to Israel, the ignoring of court orders, executive orders bypassing the authority of Congress, the use of the White House website to post a known forged birth certificate, using multiple social security numbers, and perjury and election fraud for filing to be on state ballots. We the people deserve answers on all these things, and the only way any evidence will be brought into a legal setting is if Congress impeaches.

And the House needs to impeach Eric Holder as well.

What’s at stake here is whether a simple majority in the Senate can give a President or the members of his cabinet a literal license to kill with impunity. If the Senate will always keep justice from being executed then we have NO - zip, nada - checks and balances and we are GUARANTEED absolute corruption. What needs to happen is impeachment on all the stinking crimes by this lawless regime so that people have evidence pushed in front of them and they are forced to see that the Senate is a treasonous body that puts this nation at critical risk.

Please let him know this. This is the most critical issue this nation faces, and it is an immediate existential threat.

In the News/Activism forum, on a thread titled Town Hall Erupts: Why Haven’t You Filed To Impeach Obama Yet?, Utilizer wrote:

The purpose of this review is to urge FR’s copy and distribute it to conservative leadership in the remnants of the Republican party as well as to your favorite talk show host and force discussion .

:The Dual Purpose for the “Targeting” of George Zimmerman

If racial unrest follows Zimmerman jury decision, blame it on Activist Obama

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3042477/posts
This is reference to an editorial run in Canada Free Press. The Canadians got it right.! Too bad half of the so called conservatives talk show hosts I’ve been listening to can’t seem to be willing to connect the dots to what a heavy hand his imperious highness played in this example of socialist justice meted out to serve the policies of the state . Turning this into a show trial replete with wall to wall tv coverage.. Taking some poor guy of mixed race including black doing his job and painting a target on his back to fullfill a socialist agenda.

The truth and dual purpose behind the Zimmerman persecution .. The regime and the media set the premise for the trial narrative and their presentations ignoring the setting where the incident took place..An area having a “Neighborhood Watch” and the person working security just doing his job. Why was this episode politicized ?...The first was to gin up the base for purposes explained herein but there was another second agenda..

If some of those so called conservative talk show hosts had interviewed guests who run such watches and had the courage to fight PC and defend Zimmerman they would have exposed the regime and the media for the frauds they are. The few who are still “milking this” by accepting black callers.

Allowing those callers to mis-state the facts such as as Martin was “stalked” or Martin was “stopped” and “questioned” when there was no legal right to do so, or killed in cold blood as these assertions developed If any of the of the perpetrators of these racial crimes were asked they would claim they were true. Instead these hosts fail to cite the simple facts outlined and documented here, allow the callers miss-conceptions go unchallanged, or cite examples of policy or corruption. Let alone ask them what has Obama done for you? Or even warn them as unfortunately being used and deliberately mis-informed..

Particularly a “gated” neighborhood watch. When you enter one of these and start wandering around no matter if you are white, blue, red, green, or black. You can be asked your purpose for being there. You are on private property. And yes those on patrol can and do leave their vehicle and follow on foot if they lose sight of the person they’re observing..That’s the Watch Captain’s who is really a security guard’s job.http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3054721/posts

It’s the second time the President of the United States has interjected himself into a confrontation between those in authority on legal grounds reasonably questioned and released someone involved in a curious activity in a patrolled area. Could this attitude be based from the idealized communist concept that there is no such thing as “private” property because the state (collective) owns the land ? http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3042477/posts and is the second purpose of selecting this episode to paint a target on Zimmerman’s back http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3054815/posts

In both cases those representing “authority” were reported as “white” . In the second case the person working security was attacked on private rights of way while on foot who discontinued an observation and was returing to his vehicle after being suggested by the police to do so. Legally he could have approached Saint Trayvon but didn’t..The hooded tall figure was allowed to continue on his way.unimpeded. But didn’t. That figure turned out to be a Martin Trayvon who doubled back and attacked the “neighborhood watch” worker as he was returing to his vehicle. Knocked him to the ground and began beating him severly. Saint Trayvon, the attacker, was subsequently killed in a struggle over the Neighborhood Watchman’s legal pistol.

In the second case both were dark skined.

The facts of this case are still being shamefully being concealed by the media to the extent they are advancing and are complicit in permitting a putrid injstice of the worst order, organized and instituted by our governent, to be committed .While denied. It began as a miscalculation when a surname of a Jewish origin shot up and lighted the heavens like a star shell in the darkest of nights. It would have been difused if the media used pictures of both side by side because they look like cousins. And the area where this occured of paycheck to paycheck struggling homeowners of all races trying to protect themselves had been reported and not some ritzy all white enclave.they portrayed..Worse yet the media is still pilling it on with ABC editing a a black jury members (remember when they were all white)t remarks to make it sound like she accused Zimmerman of murder .

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3048225/posts http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3048631/posts

The result as we have seen is that another marxist axiom (division) has been implemented which has resulted with gangs of black youths murdering happless whites and “hispanics” who happen into areas usually where a black population is the majority. Those media outlets who by their delberate misuse of the instrument of the 1st amendment are just as complicit in those deaths as the regime is. Other forms of media particularly the black media had the duty but not the obligation to verify and report factually. But instead quoted the reports from various “mainlining” socialist media sources: Some examples here all of which serve the first purpose of selecting Zimmerman as the target. What is the result ? Black youths believing they would get top level peer approval began attacking happless white and hispanics which may have wandered into their area which resulted in murders or serious injury and some cases stalked their white victims. In reality those victims are martyrs to the cause of American socialism., and the political opposition says nothing..

The Secondary Purpose

Using propaganda from the party that hypenated itself from God at their 2012 convention into demo-coms, and believe that all groups should be hyphenated , Afro-American, Hispanic-American, etc..Decided Zimmerman to be the egg that is to be broken,. sacrificed, so that we have an omlet..

Just like Stalin did to the Ukrainian land owners known as Kulacks whom he executed, (and used that egg example) in a soclal engineering plan to organize collectives during a Russian drought..Because as we have learned there seems to be the intention to use a collective data base to create collectives.where a utopia of uniforimity of conformity exists. As was done in Detroit, and Oakland California.only this time a poor whitey or blacky won’t be able to move. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3053314/posts.

Just as with the energy plan where the cost of fuel used for energy and transportation and that includes raising the price of transporting gas and oil by rail, that favors a key contributer (Buffett) while the regime has been recently ridiculing the impact the completion of a pipeline, has skyrocketed those costs. Placing many on fixed or limited incomes dependent on government handouts. Resulting from this regimes socialist policies which go blameless. Now call for the sacrifice of Zimmerman who must die for another communist plan.. We all move together in centers designed and approved by comrades running the collective who (just like Obamacare aren’t in it) won’t ever live there.

What could the first purpose be ?

What better way to cover up Bengahzi, Fast and furious, IRS, Wind and Solar panel gate, NSA spying on US, Over-riding the constittution? Don’t look into who accompaines Obama on his many trips around the world at taxpayer expence ? Were they the heavy hitters or their friends holding the president’s hand isn’t that pay back at US taxpayer expence?. Isn’t that an impeachable offense ??

Now if somebody even suggests impeachment. Get to your black base voters, whom you’ve done nothing for,.all worked up. Pick on some security guard who’s doing his job. Accuse him of being racist ,even though he is part black..But his last name sounds “jewish.”Who’s doing surveilance in an mixed race area of modest means a where there’s been robberies and burgalries by young blacks. Now call that surveilance stalking, the area he’s patrolling owned by rich whities, and the guard of course he’s white. That person he’s watching a 10 year old black kid and a saint ,not six foot two 165 pound 16 year old, who gets killed fighting over a gun. . Now paint a target on the security guards back .Ain’t that neat ? What better way to discourage any investigation into malfeasance and corruption by organizing the base for riots in the streets ? Think it’s too far fetched ? Think it’s not working ? Look again http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3051558/posts

To date the political opposition known as Republican has yet to mention or comment on this example of how this regime operates. Time to ask them why ?

The republican leadership was given as they have in the past, while running the 2012 campaigns for Senate, House, and President an opportunity to spell out what was in Obamacare but didn’t http://www.theusmat.com/ or even mention Democrats had refused any reference to God in the Democratic at their 2012 convention . A new attack furthur hyphenating black from “hispanic” from “white” Americans, which included Jews when the Demo-Com’s created a unconsionable use of the security guard incident to furthur their socialist agenda. That has resulted in martyrs to the collective cause because of its inflamatory assertions. Which the political opposition ignores while claiming to search for “demographics” in other directions.

Time to ask them why ?

Time to expose citizens to the face the facts that they may believe whatever activity they get involved in is perfectly legitimate and legal. If it suits their purposes this regime and its adhearants will paint a target on their back. Wether it’s a black hispanic who gets turned in a “white hispanic” or union members losing their health care benefits if Obamacare gets funded.

that’s the answer they use with everything. in reality, they have no desire to slow him down as they see themselves inheriting the bloated govt power

if they were actually representing the district, they would push forward with
impeachment, regardless of the senate. force the senate to justify NOT convicting him.

just like they should have done with the budget. they haven’t passed a budget in 4+ yrs because the senate wouldn’t agree. wtf?! make them justify it ffs

Brave American - to ask this of this squish of a Rep - knowing full well he could very well be Joe-the-Plumbered.

“His answer was “To what end?”

You know, I wish the Leftists were like this congressman. The Left has been trying to pass socialized medicine since Truman in the late 40s, that’s a lifetime away. And now they are on the threshold of succeeding. Too bad they didn’t say “to what end” and complain about all of the votes and efforts. The simple fact is that in politics, you must be on the offense and take the initiative to be successful. I realize that of course Harry Reid would never consent to impeachment. But, by staying on the offense, you open up other possibilities for other policy initiatives and weaken your opponent’s credibility.

In the meantime, the energy they are putting in to fight every other issue would be put aside. (paraphrasing here)

Gee, I’m so freakin’ happy with the RINOs capitulating and compromising with the Progressive side of the aisle.

I don't like the idea of impeachment either. At this point, with Benghazi, "Snowden's a traitor", loss of freedoms and everyone but those in the DC knowing it was not Assad who used those weapons, Obama needs a way to rally his stormtroopers.

Our best chance of getting rid of Obama is if anti-war protests get massive enough that he steps down. Either that, or some other complete break with his supporters on what happened in Benghazi or some such scandal.

The House subpoenas records and the Obama regime just ignores it and keeps doing whatever they want. The only way we will ever get access to evidence on Benghazi or any other subject is through impeachment. Accuse Obama of crimes outright and then the evidence can be compelled. If he obstructs justice in the impeachment trial hit him with impeachment on obstruction of justice charges.

It’s the only way we’ll ever hold these criminals to account. We have GOT to tell politicians that getting elected does NOT give them a license to break whatever law they want. We the people will not ALLOW criminals to get a free pass simply by taking an oath of office they know darn well they’re gonna break at every opportunity.

And the House needs to impeach Eric Holder as well.”

Pete Olson, Texas Rep, has undertaken the impeachment of Eric Holder as his number one goal. God forbid that he would try to get Boner replaced, push for defunding of Obamacare, stop amnesty, close the border, push for mandatory E-Verify, defund the departments of Education, Energy or a hundred other senseless agencies that accomplish nothing except to waste taxpayer dollars. His press release prior to this issue was to announce that he had had a wonderful BBQ lunch with Bush. From one end of ridiculous to another.

"To what end?"

To expose. And to force the MSM to follow the lead for once. It's not "about sex" this time, sorry, that excuse won't work.

So isn't our best chance to hold back on the impeachment talk and get an increase in constitutional conservative 'pubs in the HOR and US Senate?

The way things are going, Obama's not going to get his voters to the polls unless it's for something like saving him from impeachment.

"Politics is the art of the possible."

This goes beyond politics. It is a matter of right and wrong.

Or it could send a shot across his bow that he has exceeded his authority. It is up to the Reps and the people to make that case. If you fail to stand up to lawlessness, then you are part of the problem. When you reward something, you get more of it. There comes a time when you must take a stand--win or lose.

It's pointless to pursue unless there's something truly concrete to get behind. So far there is not.

Pointless? You are part of the problem. We either continue to allow the political class to impose their will on the people or we rebel. Our Founding Fathers went against the greatest power in the world. Only one-third of the public supported their efforts. If you don't even try, then you will never win.

"Qui audet adipiscitur" He who dares, wins.

Unfortunately, the same crowd that believes it is pointless to initiate impeachment hearings against Obama is also the one running the GOP. They won't defund Obamacare. They had a great opportunity two years ago. Steve King was calling for it right after the 2010 midterms.

Obamacare is here to stay. Hillary will be the next President and she will not kill Obamacare except for a single payer system that was always the ultimate objective. There is no way Obama kills his signature achievement. And next up is amnesty. Look for these two bills to transform America forever. Amnesty is forever.

Here’s what the Congressman needs to know: Character is about doing what is right. . .not doing something based upon a prediction of results.

The Congressman did nothing but make Boehner-like excuses. .”we can’t get er done”. . “Wahhhh. .Waaaahhhh”. . What a bunch of wusses!! If this guy had been faced with the decision whether or not to sign the Declaration of Independence, I’m sure he would have been peeing in his pants over George III and his big army. . thank God there were real men in 1776!

I say fire the wuss and replace him, on the spot, with that young man asking the question.

YES...exactly

Too many make excuses not to lead...and quite surprised so many here buy the GOPe Fox News PhonyCon excuses “the Senate wont vote” lalala

We heard a lot of this Obama Supporter PhonyCon nonsense over the Eligibility issue....wait...we still hear the excuses from the Obama Supporter PhonyCons

Obama should be impeached...and we need to put it to a vote to see who supports impeachment...and who really is Obama Supporter
