This is Texas, right? I think he’s fresh from watching the “governor” in the movie “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas!” Just the Texas Politician’s Two-Step.
The problem concerning impeachment is that conseratives, including myself, thought that trying to regain conservative control of the Oval Office in 2012 was the main mission for that election cycle, totally naive that Obama’s gangster supporters would stuff ballot boxes to reelect Obama.
Consequently, we overlooked trying to win control of both Houses of Congress. So whether we like it or not, Congressman Burgess has a valid point concerning wasting a bunch of time trying to impeach Obama since a divided Congress is not going to do the job right anyway. It would just be Bill Clinton all over again.
This is why I’ve been ranting that if conservatives and former Obama supporters can learn from our mistakes and win majority control of both Houses of Congress in 2014 then Obama can be impeached and removed from office.
And note that if conservatives can win 2/3 majority control of both Houses of Congress in the 2014 or 2016 election cycles, then conservative Congress will have the power, under the Constitution’s Clause 2 of Section 7 of Article I, to override presidential vetoes and essentially run the country no matter who is president.
I hate Obama but am unaware of any impeachable offense that could come close to being proved.
One could argue that it is still worth pursuing anyway, but then I would ask what is it that would be gained and lost.
Hell, Clinton GOT impeached and it accomplished nothing, other than serving as a diversion from things Clinton was doing wrong and sucking more money and time from the public coffers.
I want congressmen and women who accomplish something. Then again, since this absolutely never happens anyway, what is the difference what these criminals on both sides of the aisle are up to?
Being In Congress must have been something worthwhile at one time, but now they all get elected to assuage their enormous egos and to get rich while supposedly acting as our public servants.
Even if he does somehow eventually surrender the office he will likely run again somewhere else for any political office he chooses. With the threat of that label being applied to anyone who dares oppose him in anything, the chance for more free paychecks with little effort and golfing everyday instead of every other week seems like an opportunity he can not rufuse.
And yes, I got that there are clueless individuals that are not aware that there is a two-term limit currently for the office. You just know however that if he tries to run again and get another term they will simply shrug their shoulders when you point it out and simply think it No Big Deal.

It’s a good answer that many on FR wont be happy to hear...
Calling for impeachment is also the intellectually lazy approach, as if just voting to impeach the Marxist buzzard would accomplish anything...it wouldn’t without an equally supportive Senate. Getting rid of him is hard work, requiring a studious effort. The groundwork must first be laid. The mindset of the population has to be redirected toward solving their immediate problems such as under-employment, rising costs of gas, food, etc. Until the populace connects those failures to the ineptitude of one Barack H. Obama there wont be support for impeachment in either House or Senate.
That’s not to say I don’t support the ‘overpasses for impeachment’ efforts. I think any effort to spark a thought in the otherwise occupied low to no information populace is great. It is just that too many Americans are too comfortable in their unemployment compensation, disability, retirement and any other support to actually give a damn.
So a different tack must be taken. If any of you have a suggestion I’d like to hear it.
If Congress and the Reps in particular allow him to do this without opposition, it just emboldens him to do more. If the House can call for the repeal of Obamacare 40 times knowing full well it will never get passed in the Senate or signed by Obama, why are they doing that? Burgess gave a crap answer that smells of defeatism. You either stand up for principles and adhere to the Constitution or you are part of the problem.
A point that was not yet made is that if the articles of impeachment were submitted and there was a tidal wave of support from the populace, it would have tremendous impact, even if it does not pass in the Senate.
I don't think I agree with that. It is only an opinion, but I think that a number of scandals do rise to the level of 'impeachable offense'. It is certainly easy to document the pay-for-play that was going on in a great deal of the stimulus funding. It is also public knowledge that IRS officials directly attributable to the targeting of the opposition were coming to the White House repeatedly. The undocumented meetings outside the White House in Washington D.C. restaurants along with the early denial and then obfuscation of the public record is impeachable.
It is really not too hard to find a great deal of the violation of law in this administration. We have documented the lies in the Gunwalker scandal that lead to the White House. We have documented the Green Energy scams and that they were run from the White House. Then there is the illegal phone, internet, and email accounts by numerous White House officials that are and were illegal. The cozy relationship of Obama and Eric Whitaker. The Airport Scanner scam that was a pay-for-play run from the White House. The Michelle lunchroom program and the unionization of school lunchrooms across the nation.
The list goes on, but there is certainly so much impropriety here that if there was any impartial reflection by a fair minded Congress and Senate, he would be out on his ear. Nixon could have been impeached with out a clear connection to his own guilt. Clinton was impeached with only his lies about sex. Obama has done far worse.

Everything you list has more than its share of supporters in this country, with more than a few of them being not only in power currently, but also helping shape opinions in the media.
The House would just spin its wheels endlessly with this, only to have it fail in the Senate. Meanwhile, Obama can look like the victim while ramming his agenda through by executive fiat anyway--only this time, NO ONE is paying attention b/c all news stories are about evil, racist Republicans trying to impeach the first black president.
It's pointless to pursue unless there's something truly concrete to get behind. So far there is not.
The most immediate and effective effort would be to cut off the funding for Obamacare. No impeachment required; no need to convince anyone in the Senate. If that doesn’t work then the House cuts-off the operating budget for the White House.
Contingent, of course on the whether Speaker Boehner has has had his dosage of ANDRO 400. The solution to this problem is for each of us boys to order him a supply so that he feels frisky and virile and powerful once again. (assuming he was ever frisky, virile, and powerful) That might be the easiest solution.
Given the obvious outcome, at this stage , I'd not impeach either.
When you speak to somebody at his office, please let him know that one very important thing would come of an impeachment proceeding even if the Senate never convicts: discovery. Subpoenas for evidence, testimony, and cross-examination. We the people deserve answers - even if it’s just to show us that we have a criminal, foreign enemy combatant in our White House and the political system is so criminal and corrupt that it will cover for him when he wages war AGAINST the US.
The media has been threatened; they will not report evidence. But we the people deserve to have the evidence rooted out and put in front of us - and federal subpoenas are the only way it’s ever gonna happen.
Obama should be impeached for a laundry list of things - all the things that the people deserve to get an answer to, and that includes at the very least Fast & Furious, Benghazi, Extortion 17, the threats to the media if they reported Obama’s eligibility problem, the deaths of Andrew Breitbart and Michael Hastings, the deportation of the Saudi “person of interest” caught at the Boston marathon finish line, the IRS targeting of conservatives, the approval of Malik Obama’s tax exemption for Hamas fundraising, the payment of 8 billion to Morsi to kill innocent Egyptians so Hamas could take over portions of Egypt close to Israel, the ignoring of court orders, executive orders bypassing the authority of Congress, the use of the White House website to post a known forged birth certificate, using multiple social security numbers, and perjury and election fraud for filing to be on state ballots. We the people deserve answers on all these things, and the only way any evidence will be brought into a legal setting is if Congress impeaches.
And the House needs to impeach Eric Holder as well.
What’s at stake here is whether a simple majority in the Senate can give a President or the members of his cabinet a literal license to kill with impunity. If the Senate will always keep justice from being executed then we have NO - zip, nada - checks and balances and we are GUARANTEED absolute corruption. What needs to happen is impeachment on all the stinking crimes by this lawless regime so that people have evidence pushed in front of them and they are forced to see that the Senate is a treasonous body that puts this nation at critical risk.
Please let him know this. This is the most critical issue this nation faces, and it is an immediate existential threat.

This is reference to an editorial run in Canada Free Press. The Canadians got it right.! Too bad half of the so called conservatives talk show hosts I’ve been listening to can’t seem to be willing to connect the dots to what a heavy hand his imperious highness played in this example of socialist justice meted out to serve the policies of the state . Turning this into a show trial replete with wall to wall tv coverage.. Taking some poor guy of mixed race including black doing his job and painting a target on his back to fullfill a socialist agenda.

In both cases those representing “authority” were reported as “white” . In the second case the person working security was attacked on private rights of way while on foot who discontinued an observation and was returing to his vehicle after being suggested by the police to do so. Legally he could have approached Saint Trayvon but didn’t..The hooded tall figure was allowed to continue on his way.unimpeded. But didn’t. That figure turned out to be a Martin Trayvon who doubled back and attacked the “neighborhood watch” worker as he was returing to his vehicle. Knocked him to the ground and began beating him severly. Saint Trayvon, the attacker, was subsequently killed in a struggle over the Neighborhood Watchman’s legal pistol.
In the second case both were dark skined.

You know, I wish the Leftists were like this congressman. The Left has been trying to pass socialized medicine since Truman in the late 40s, that’s a lifetime away. And now they are on the threshold of succeeding. Too bad they didn’t say “to what end” and complain about all of the votes and efforts. The simple fact is that in politics, you must be on the offense and take the initiative to be successful. I realize that of course Harry Reid would never consent to impeachment. But, by staying on the offense, you open up other possibilities for other policy initiatives and weaken your opponent’s credibility.
In the meantime, the energy they are putting in to fight every other issue would be put aside. (paraphrasing here)
