In 1981 Lily Tomlin starred in a film, The Incredible Shrinking Woman, and it seems to me that Barack Obama is starring in the 2013 sequel, The Incredible Shrinking President.
A half hour late to his Rose Garden announcement on Saturday, President Obama put the best possible spin he could on his badly timed threat to lob a half-billion dollars worth of Tomahawk missiles into Syria as retaliation for the gas attack; one whose perpetrator is not as yet known with any certainty.
This is a President who could not put together a coalition of nations to support his proposed action. His predecessor (Its all Bushs fault) had some forty nations on board for his attack on Iraq. Obama could not get a United Nations resolution. His predecessor had some sixteen UN resolutions. He has been told that Congress would have to authorize covering the cost of the action and of replacing the missiles because his administration has cut the Defense Department budget to the bone.
Theres a word to describe someone who would get himself into such a fix: JERK.

The leader of our country has no leadership qualities at all.
I sense trouble ahead.
I guess we can deduce that he inherited his penis size from his white mother’s side.
Heh, heh. He’s got an innie.
I haven’t heard this speech yet, but if he had daughters they would look just like the girls that live with him and Chewey.
You owe Chewbacca an apology.
It’s interesting that Assad has been accused several times in the last few months of using chemical weapons, now Zippy seems to know chemical weapons were used although the U.N. inspection team results won’t be back for several days yet. What if chemical weapons were used? That knowledge is useless if we don’t know who launched them. When Saddam used them on the Kurds, the U.N. couldn’t care less.
Pre-1990 who did Saddam threaten? The Iranians. Frankly that was a good thing.
Well, gassing the Kurds would not be largely viewed as a good thing.
True, but all the same it was within Iraq’s borders.
Hope someone gets Kerry to Praise George Bush for taking out Saddam who gassed thousands of Kurds. But at that time the Defense Intelligence Agency study said Iran was responsible.
The Kurds were within the borders of Iraq. My point is, and the big difference was that Hussein attacked several of his neighbors over the years (Iran, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, et al). He threatened the region, he threatened our allies, and frankly he threatened stability in the region. Big difference. He had the weapons. He had USED the weapons, and it was good that he was taken out. Syria, while being a rogue nation, is not, in my opinion, our problem. Obama, who opposed Bush in Iraq, is now gung ho over Syria. We have no money, and we have little national interest in this problem. Let the Arab world solve it, if it needs to be solved. You think that this will earn us any credit in the region? Not a chance.
Well I still wonder why we did go there in 1991....Kuwait was nothing but an invention of British Empire map makers, and they were caught side-drilling into Iraqi oil fields.
Hindsight is 20/20, but Saddam’s regime was largely secular and protected Christians, even Tariq Aziz was a Christian. And he did keep Iran in check. There are no saints in that part of the world.
Now my question is, would Saddam have turned the way he did, had we not attacked him in the first place in 1991?
Which of course leads to the other lesson, if you are going to fight a regime, you’d better not leave the regime in tact, because they will try to get their revenge down the road. Once we went in 1991, the goal should have been regime change.
And the fact his tiny balls are barely visible
Ahhh, witty, I like...
How does a mirage shrink?
Pray for America to Wake Up
The GOP should propose the following to Obama: agree to repeal Obamacare, give up on amnesty, and we’ll give you Syria’s head on a platter.
Clearly, you’re a better negotiator than anyone in congress.
I’m flattered by your sarcasm. But seriously, I have a basset hound with better negotiating skills than John Boehner.
Exactly. He’s not shrinking, he was always small. Some are just slow to see it.
(1) ObamaCare, in some form, almost certain
(2) Two Supreme Court judges and still counting
(3) Defacto legalization of 2 million illegal immigrants by Executive fiat
(3) Almost doubled Food Stamp recipients
(4) Amnesty for 11 million, in some form, almost certain
(5) Homosexual marriage
(6) Destruction of our military, except for Drones
(7) Preserved UAW pensions and health care by Executive fiat
(8) Helped install radical anti-Israel governments in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, and trying hard in Syria
(9) Corrupted our justice system in the George Zimmerman case and incites Black-on-white violence everywhere in the USA
If this guy is “shrinking,” heaven help us if he's ever successful!
Watch as Obama sends the drones to strike Canadian newspapermen! How dare they print the truth! How dare they say anything negative against Obama! they must be racists, reactionary tea partiests and other evil people!
El-Presidente has egg on his face....seems the kiss ass tour he took at the beginning of his reign has wound up with a bunch of friends and enemies seeing him for what he is...a pathetic inept, incompetent , bungling ass idiot who has no idea what the hell he is doing. Oh well...when going gets tough...the tough head for the golf course....FOOOOOUR!!!!
The talking heads on TV news repeat the phrase “alleged chemical attack”, yet, our government is planning a retaliatory strike that is based on an “alleged chemical attack” for which they’re still gathering facts to prove which group of individuals might have been responsible.
It seems that the “brilliance” and “intellectual superiority” of progressives has its limits, contrary to what they continue to tell us.
If they persevere in declaring their absolute brilliance, they might have to prove it by coming up with an inexpensive alternative to “evil” oil, a cure for cancer, a cure for violence (other than banning guns), a cure for poverty, or a cure for the philosphy of those knuckle-dragging Christian morons (/s/) who have stood up to Nazis, Communists and wannabe totalitarians for the last four hundred years.)
He threatened and started taking action to de couple the dollar from oil purchases. Remember the world over, no oil is bought with any other currency than the dollar, Saddam Hussein was threatening that norm.
LOL And he's better looking too.
