President Obama ordered two more executive actions Thursday to restrict guns, banning the re-importation of military surplus firearms to private entities and proposing a regulation that would close a loophole in background checks.
Also, the administration said it will deny requests to bring military-grade firearms back into the U.S. to private entities, with a few exceptions, such as for museums. Currently, when the U.S. provides military firearms to its allies, either as direct commercial sales or through the foreign military sales or military assistance programs, those firearms may not be imported back into the United States without U.S. government approval.

Including ammo, it weighs in at a hefty 84 pounds. Not remotely practical as a man-portable weapon, the movie "Predator" aside...
Yes, unfortunately low-information voters includes all elected officials who don’t know any more about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers than the people who elected them.
Pass all the UNCONSTITUTIONAL orders you want asshole.
NOW ENFORCE THEM!
F U B O !!
Boehner is for them as he does nothing to challenge the monarch.
Correction (typo) to my own post.. M134)
That would include M1 Garands and carbines, right? We could always use more of them.
We looked at each other like, WTF are we supposed to do about it? Never even seen one up close before and this guy wants us to unjam it?
Maybe if he had left it with us for a few days so we could have some fun, then pick it up later and drop off a few cases of beer for our trouble..........
That's correct. I already have one of each, but I think it's a shame that Obama is preventing these pieces of history from coming home.
Then again, if it only saves one life, isn't it worth it? (tongue firmly in cheek)
Is anybody surprised?
I still remember our Apaches getting engines clogged from the 1st war :/ (and the GPS getting screwed up:p).. I believe they fixed that problem for the second..
(Not exactly OT, but guns and engines during war ;))
At least the elite who control the gov no people dislike them. Haha Obama the water boy. This govt fears its citizens = rotten govt.
Heck, I think they should change the MP5 to 2 round burst.. I am out of the action now though, so I have no say..
Hehe.. if he had dropped it off for a few days.. it would have ‘gotten lost in inventory’ :^D (and ended up on a tripod on the defensive perimeter :^D
If I remember correctly, the M16A-1 was an improved version of the M16 (which had major jamming issues with the water/climate).. and the later version (Stoner) which added the front grip for SF..?
When I came into service 1989, we were issued the AR (no auto)..
That's the only one that's even remotely man-portable.
Here is the one I was talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minigun
That would be fun to play with, wouldn't it? A bit pricey in today's ammo market, though. Let's see, if you were able to get a bunch of 7.62x51 at really good price, you could burn through a 5,000 round belt in just under a minute, using up $2500 worth of ammo.
BTW.. the only kick that actually hurt.. was a 30.06 .. (and the 12 gauge slugs >.<).. both left my shoulder purple for a week :p
Lol.. nice to dream ;^)
Like I said, one full auto I would love to shoot ;)
At least me firing the 50Cal (full auto, but instructed to try to keep 3 round bursts.. and having 3 interchangeable barrels next to us WITH an ‘oven mitt’).. Was an adrenaline rush experience, but, thank God I never had to mount one in battle.. I was stuck with AR15.. which, me being E13 (artillery advisor) on the battlefield, was no problem.
I'd love to try out a .50 M2HB sometime, but it's so pricey!
