I’m sure of one thing.
Obama loves “his” surveillance.
I find it odd that in Obamas first year of office they rolled up over 100 NYC mobsters.
There is a new mob in town.
I often think they are in cahoots.
Did you really think we want those laws observed? said Dr. Ferris. We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against... We’re after power and we mean it... There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be
much easier to deal with. (’Atlas Shrugged’ 1957)
We can’t turn around without seeing a camera or breaking a law.
The NSA stuff has been known for a long time or at the very least suspected from anyone who has been paying attention. Some of the supposed new info about the NSA had actually been well documented even years before; it was known during 2005, for example, that the NSA was installing huge undersea cables designed to intercept and siphon off data going back and forth from the US to other nations. During the Snowden leak, our media tried to act like this was somehow groundbreaking news. The issue now how few people on either side of the aisle in our gov;t care even a little enough about this to try and stop it.
Given everything that has come out, does anyone really believe that background check records are purged?

Wow. Over 100? I’m surprised. Maybe the Bush Administration DOJ already had them tagged for easy pickings. There were some cleanups back then (Tennessee for one).
Of course not.
I think it was the Chicago mob.
But that is just an opinion.
Ah, could be.
FWIW, the government has been monitoring ‘phone calls for 30+ years! The ‘old’ system had six or seven (I think) VERY powerful monitoring stations around the world, hooked to Crays. One station, I believe, was a joint UK/USA base in England and another was/is CFS Alert.
I recall seeing something on TV about 20 years ago, concerning this. The system was designed to monitor for certain key words and when they came up, start recording them. Of course, the technology has improved substantially since then. I would not doubt that someone can monitor every keystroke we make on our computer.
We don’t have to worry about the introduction of ‘Big Brother’, he’s been here a long time. What we do have to worry about is the interconnecting of the various databases talking to each other.
And what oversight is that? Oh wait, there is none.
“using subpoenas”
If these are the “administrative subpeonas” they are nothing more than some agent writing a fill in the blanks form and signing it. I do not believe these are court approved documents.
Maybe you are being sarcastically clever.
If they are planting evidence, why bother with the wiretaps?
“If DEA is wiretapping people for nefarious and illegal means while planting evidence on people, that is a horse of another color.”
“programs started by conservatives”
There’s only one program started by conservatives that matters and it’s the US Constitution. The contract with the people and their government.
It’s broken and needs a roll back big time.
I don’t trust ANY part of government. The whole damn system is corrupt from one end to the other.
The tree of liberty is in a drought.
Probably got the boot for three exact same posting times on three threads??? The preceding post was one second earlier. Possible spammer??

And let me guess, if you dont have any affordable private schools within a 2-3 hour drive of where you are and are stuck with a bottom of the barrel PS and choose to home school your kids, than MSNBC says you are a backwoods buffoon who heeds to get with the times. Did I get it right?

I would pay real money to see how Putin reacts when he sees just how many things he is in full agreement with Ms. Palin on.
On Syria, for example, I loved how they both said word for word the exact same thing - Let allah sort it out.

I think if Freepers could get themselves behind Mitt freaking Romney last year, then regardless of their objections to his opinions on govt involvement in any other issue, then, theoretically, they should have no problem swarming around him if he runs in 2016. And I suspect many Freepers, regardless of that they think now, will be out campaigning for the guy if he does decide to run.
