Posted on 09/03/2013 2:17:58 PM PDT by Viennacon
Below is the updated table of Members of Congress voting positions on Syria.
The White House is in a bit of a pickle President Obama feels he needs the support of John McCain and Lindsey Graham to get House Republicans on board, and he may be right. However, McCain and Graham want regime change and a number of Democratic AND Republican votes appear to be contingent upon the language of the authorization being limited to airstrikes and preventing boots on the ground.
Its worth noting that many of todays quotes came after members of Congress had been briefed and did not find the evidence compelling.
Syria War Vote Count Tuesday, September 4 2013
Democrats Republicans Total Firm Nay 13 28 41 Firm Yea 15 7 22 Leaning Nay 37 55 92 Leaning Yea 21 6 27
Kabuki Theater, he’ll get the votes, they’re just figuring out who gets to vote “no” for political cover.
Dem Senate - check
RINO House - check
49 yes 133 no...
Just to clear it up for anyone interested, if the ‘lean yay’ and ‘lean nay’ votes hold, it will be thus far 133 Nay, and 49 Yay. Some of the statements from the politicians already accounted for seem pretty concrete No’s. I don’t see Trent Franks listed, but he often votes with Lynn Westmooreland, so I am guessing he’ll be another nay. Waiting for word from Steve King.
The THe Repubs make this happen I am voting 3rd party in 2014 - 2016, I don’t care if its for “The Rent is TOO Damn High” Party. What the hell is the difference.
If he’s in a pickle he put himself there. He didn’t have to go to Congress, as he proved when he bombed the hell out of Libya.
I’m for regime change myself. Just not te same regime.
Just remember, the CIA is training al queda rebels in Syria.
The democrats will vote en bloc
They don’t need many RINO’s to pass this
The searing image of babies lined up dead, thats what I cant get out of my mind right now,
- Debbie Wasserman Schultz, baby killer extraordinaire.
For later, but now, who`s organizing the protest gatherings/marches and whats the hold up?
Good point. Charity (and regime change) begin at home.
I’m doubting a bloc vote this time. Grayson has a large following on the radical left. Piglosi’s ranks will break.
Well, you have to admit it was a great ploy by the O admin to finish off the GOP. They have lost their base.
Smooth sailing for Obama from here on out.
We need to be in the streets protesting this!
Yet the cupid stunt is pro-infanticide.
Kerry now comparing Syria to Hitler.
Assad is a saint compared to Kerry’s hero, Ho Chi Minh.
Kerry is wiping his forehead answering Sen Paul questions.
And Bouncing Bob is suddenly pro-war!
Is debbie, the Clown Princess, talking of aborted babies?
No, after all, those aren’t babies in her mind
I think that the warmongers who vote for this should be the ones to send their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews FIRST to the battlefield.
The Obama girls, Chelsea Clinton, Kerry’s daughters should be the first boots onthe ground.
No more elitism.
Let’s keep up the pressure: Hope so!
U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, DC 20515
I think WE need to do it-as in Tea Party, Ron Paul Groups, FR Chapters, Anti-War (Code Pink, ANSWER) folk.
National Anti War Protest Day Sept 7th: Lets Go!! On your local street corner like we did the Tea Party Protests in 2009. Who’s with me??
Sounds good to me. Eagles Up!
I love it!
hey Bender everybody know you can’t vote on War vote unless you put on some Grateful Dead or Jefferson Airplane LOL!
They need 217 Nays to kill it.
Just 16 GOP to side with the communists and its all over.
Prayer for Peace in Syria
God of Compassion,
Hear the cries of the people of Syria,
Bring healing to those suffering from the violence,
Bring comfort to those mourning the dead,
Strengthen Syria’s neighbors in their care and welcome for refugees,
Convert the hearts of those who have taken up arms,
And protect those committed to peace.
God of Hope,
Inspire leaders to choose peace over violence and to seek reconciliation with enemies,
Inspire the Church around the world with compassion for the people of Syria,
And give us hope for a future of peace built on justice for all.
We ask this through Jesus Christ,
Prince of Peace and Light of the World,
Petition: For the people of Syria, that God may strengthen the resolve of leaders to end the fighting and choose a future of peace.
13 Democrats have already stated they are Nay votes. 37 are leaning that way.
“President Obama feels he needs the support of John McCain and Lindsey Graham”
As an aside, Graham is getting pounded with radio ads here in SC. The ads say that Graham is more interested in meeting with terrorists than his constituents.
My prediction: Graham’s approval rating will be around 40% before Christmas.
King and Rohrabacher went to Russia to learn about the Boston bombers.
