How much commitment do we have to the naval base at Guantanamo? Syria is the Russian navy’s warm water port in the Mediterranean. Strategically, it’s close to the Suez Canal and Black Sea. Having a port there gives Russia the ability to move ships and troops from the Black Sea through the Suez into the Indian Ocean very quickly. I would fight for it if I were Putin. Obama is playing a dangerous game.
Serbia didn’t have much in the way of an IADS. Whether Syria’s Russian-made one is any good remains to be see. Hopefully we get to not find out.
Not sure what the Fairy King's intent is, but after the air war causes more problems than it fixes, you can be sure that Barry'n'John will be back on the Hill begging for ground troops.

A lot of the hacking was already done. It’s scary to put our troops into harms way knowing some of our most classified, and even most basic military hardware is compromised.

Military subcontractors purchase parts made by Chicom companies in China controlled by PLA. In the end, Pentagon may get more than bargained for - Chicoms holding kill switch or capability to reassign targets.
