French President Francois Hollande has promised he won't go it alone if US Congress opposes an armed offensive.

There will be two debates; one in the upper house of the senate and the other in the second chamber know as the Congress National.

While there are no plans for politicians to vote, that is what many will be pushing for.

However, Mr Hollande has promised he won't go it alone if US Congress opposes an armed offensive.

...

But as France's full political spectrum gathers to question whether intervention is the right course of action, it will be argued that if French MPs don't get to vote, the US congress will effectively decide for them.

Political commentator Agnes Poirier told Sky News: "Hollande is in a difficult position, Cameron set off a chain reaction when he gave Parliament the vote.

"President Obama has now gone to Congress and French politicians are saying why can't we vote on this too."

~~~if US Congress opposes an armed offensive~~~
Has he heard of Harry Reid and John Boehner?
We’ll be lobbing cruise missiles within 10 days I’d guess.
Recall if you will the final minutes of Lawrence of Arabia......
There was an opportunity for a united Arab nation, free from the Ottoman shackles. Damascus descended into chaos. Nothing worked. The tribes squabbled and the water works and electricity failed.
In rushed the diplomats and divided up the spoils. France got Syria and Lebanon. Both are now lost but still coveted. France has an opportunity to recover the prize, the jewel that is Lebanon, if Syria is rescued.
France should rescue Lebanon by freeing Syria of Assad
Guess Asma Assad’s old French connections don’t cut it anymore for her husband, since she’s in hiding.
“Vogue has described her as ‘the freshest and most magnetic of first ladies’ and has topped French Elle’s ‘most stylish woman in politics’ list. She speaks four languages and her connections with France have led her to persuade the Louvre to help her open Syrian cultural attractions.”
As France’s Muslim population goes, so goes France.
A friend of mine from Lebanon says the Saudi’s run the country.
They have bought most of the condos on the Med and put their mistresses up in them.
if the US government is so damn committed to helping the poor muzzies in the middle east be "free" then the best place to start would be getting rid of the dadgum Saudi monarchy !
how about lining up some gunboats and lobbing some tomahawks at riyadh ?
the scumbag saudi's are the root problem of all the mideast turmoil. bet on that.
France is really torn. It’s muslims fighting muslims and France supports the muslims.
