Report: US strike on Syria to be 'significantly larger than expected'

Despite statements from both US President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry that a US-led strike on Syria would be a "limited and tailored" military attack, ABC News reported on Thursday that the strike planned by Obama's national security team is "significantly larger" than most have anticipated.

According to ABC News, in additional to a salvo of 200 Tomahawk cruise missiles fired from four Navy destroyers stationed in the eastern Mediterranean, the US is also planning an aerial campaign that is expected to last two days.

This campaign potentially includes an aerial bombardment of missiles and long range bombs from US-based B-2 stealth bombers that carry satellite-guided bombs, B-52 bombers, that can carry air-launched cruise missiles and Qatar-based B-1s that carry long-range, air-to-surface missiles, both ABC News and The New York Times reported.

"This military strike will do more damage to [Syrian President Bashar] Assad's forces in 48 hours than the Syrian rebels have done in two years," a national security official told ABC News.

Meanwhile, Obama has directed the Pentagon to expand the list of potential targets in Syria following reports Assad's forces have moved troops and equipment used to employ chemical weapons in anticipation of the US-led strike against them, the Times reported on Thursday.

In order to degrade Assad's ability to use chemical weapons, the list of 50 or so major sites has to be expected, officials told the Times.

Let’s just send the libs into Syria to do battle.

The hypocrisy of the left is dripping serious blood.

To hell with all of them.

for what motive?

Never let a crisis go to waste.

With this on the table where is the IRS, Benghazi, etc.?

Better yet...will this push the National Emergency Envelope for him to declare martial law? We've all been watching the pawns be put in place for it.

A reason they can finally pass the National Universal Service Act and draft our children and even older Americans into service to country.

And don't forget about those funny looking FEMA camps either....

Let me just share a thought with you all: 1 each Tomahawk missile costs $ 1,450,000 dollars. So Obamas first wave will cost us up front 290 $million dollars. Not counting the cost of the crews and fuel and salaries and benefits of the destroyers an the range is 1000 miles away an that is not max an lets not forget the second largest Russian naval base in the world is right next door to 4 of the targeted cities and bases.....

you guys do the math and also I forgot the interest on the loans for these missiles is lets see 4% x 290,000,000 dollars times 30 years is 348,000,000 plus the cost of buying them makes the cost to be $680,000,000.....to make a has been look like a leader??????are they friggin nuts?

After bombing and invading Syria will:

1) Obama receive another Nobel Peace Prize?

2) The Dixie Chicks claim they are not proud that Obama is an American?

3) Code Pink get ANY air time?

4) Michael Moore produce Fahrenheit 9/11 2.0?

5) John Kerry claim he was against the war before he supported the War?

6) Sean Penn go to Syria and try to protect Shiites from getting slaughtered?

7) the media claim with 1 day of the invasion, that the US military is bogged down with fierce resistant even though they have taken Damascus.

8) Jay Carney become the new Baghdad/Beltway Bob?

9) there be massive anti-war protests with a media fawning over every incoherent speech?

10) be able to wave Obama is Hitler posters?

11) able to air Obama’s statement, “I am not opposed to all wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars,”(2003 comment)

12) Answer—Act Now to Stop War and End Racism—protest outside Chuck Hagel’s home?

What are these jackwagons gonna due when one of our politically correct Air Force’s women pilots bails out over Syria? That’ll make being raped in Tahrir Square look like a walk in the park.

It would be cruel and unusual punishment for us to send that @hole there, ‘cause he’d be too big a target and take too many rounds to take him out.

The correct answer is ALL OF THE ABOVE!

Plus, I'm sure that Barbara Streisand, Jeanine Garafalo and Rosanne Barr will appear on The View and show proof that Donald Rumsfeld has used his voodoo mind magic on Barry, and that's the only possible explanation.

What struck me at Barry’s press conference today was how he repeatedly corrected himself after saying that he was certain or the evidence was there for Assad having used chemical weapons. Each time he quickly clarified to say that Assad’s military, or his generals, or some such.

This makes me think there is something to the reports that we got rogue actors to launch them from within, or apparently from within, the Syrian military—without Assad necessarily having approved them at all. This of course would be a false flag operation to give Obama an excuse to indeed serve as Al-Qaeda’s air force.

I swear something like that is up for him to have gone back and so carefully corrected himself repeatedly.

It is unfair of us to have any cruise missiles. Any new procurement will be for any or all Muslim countries.

But it gets Benghazi, IRS scandal, and DOJ scandal out of the news, let alone the roll-out of 0bamacare on Oct. 1, and other assorted failures of the regime.

The trials of the MB in Egypt will start soon, and some of what's revealed could be very damning to 0bama but not if overshadowed by WWIII.

So Obamas first wave will cost us up front 290 $million dollars.

But, but, but, what about the sequester?? I heard there was no money to fund the military. Employees had to be furloughed for days. Now we can blow this much for shooting a few missiles at aspirin factories like BJ did during his scandals.
