ADELANTO Local religious leaders have come to the defense of an undocumented immigrant who was arrested in Hesperia and may be deported, forcing him to be separated from his three U.S. citizen children.
Hugo Magna Mendoza, originally from El Salvador, was granted a temporary stay on Aug. 26 under the recently approved Parental Interests Directive, but still faces possible deportation.
Though members of the activist network Campaign for Citizenship are celebrating what they see as a temporary victory, they remain determined to free Magna, who is currently being held at Adelanto Detention Facility-East.
Hugo has been a resident of Santa Ana for over a decade, working to support his family and community, Campaign for Citizenship coordinators said in an Aug. 26 statement.
The Parental Interests Directive was issued by the Obama Administration to Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Aug. 23. It allows ICE on a case-by-case basis to find an alternative form of supervision in place of detention for non-criminal detained parents or legal guardians.

working to support his family and community”
...supporting an entire community must be exhausting. By the way, shit for brains is here illegally so he simply needs to get his old, tired, drunken ass outta here.
Nothing is "forcing" him to be separated from his three anchor baby children. They should all pack their bags and go back and be a legal happy family down South. If Dad gets his papers in order, and is able to return legally - welcome back.
