It’s highly likely those were staged attacks by Russia’s own intelligence services on behalf of Putin. Such was the thesis of the now late Alexander Litvinenko (he was the one poisoned by Polonium 210 awhile back over in the UK), as well as other former FSB/KGB members, who were similarly persecuted by the Putin’s regime. Alexander also said that Al’Zawahiri was trained by the FSB before being sent to enter Al’Qaeda.
